Good thing i had my comp unplugged, lightning went right up the cord, blew my surge protector (this thing was a direct hit) and blew up my modem.........DSL= Down for the past week, been so bored ive beaten the Singleplayer on medal of honor pacific assault, both call of duty and call of duty united offensive, and the old medal of honor, and practicing flying tricks on my own bf2 private game thingy....i asked earthlink for a new modem last sunday.......shold be here tomarrow (w00t), this is the 1st time ive been on in a week with t3h l33t 56k dial up.. been bored shitless......

I think wilma broke my comp after i got power....... my bro had the comp on when we got power and the power flickered... now when i try to start up bf2, my computer restarts

Well i got my new modem hooked up 1st thing when i came home from school and been playin non-stop! So much fun after a week of nothing, got 1200 points in about 7 hours lol

i think specificaly the modem because (well here in aus atleast) lightning can travel up phone lines but not power lines from pole to house.
If you've got a decent surge protector (e.g. one made by Belkin.) then it should just blow the surge protector.Greenie_Beazinie wrote:

If you have any equipment not surge protected then expect to lose all the unprotected stuff in the case of a direct lightning hit.
(And, no, I don't work for Belkin - I just really like their surge protectors.)

Well, cause of a grounding problem (dont ask how) my case has to be unplugged whilst its off... so, yeah.
Did you run outside your house, look directly at the hurricane, and yell "WILLLLLLLLLMA" in a Fred Flintstone voice at the top of your lungs?
