So i've had enough of 1.3's disconnects, ctds, freezes and bs like that. Can't be bothered any more. I shall now become an outcast, surviving on the edges, hunting servers without the new version. On the plus side, my game will run stably for more than 10 minutes at a time!
Also I won't be able to play AF, but no big deal as its not that great.

Who's with me?

Older patches still have ranked servers, and the points count, FYI.

I'd be with you without a doubt, but my clan's server and the ladder require 1.3... so I'd be wasting my own and the clan's money. ^_^

You can make a copy of your BF2 folder when your on 1.22, then patch up to 1.3.  Now you have both versions on your comp

install bf2 again to patch 1.22
Copy the ENTIRE bf2 folder from program files-eagames-bf2 to your desktop
the one that remains in the folder, patch that to 1.3.

To turn on the one in 1.22, open up the folder on your desktop and click the regular bf2 desktop icon, it should work

I have almost all versions this way, it takes up alot of space but i got alot of harddrive space

I thought server providers were contractually obliged to run the latest patch on their ranked servers.
Have you confirmed that this is correct?

[edit] Just checked with my host, there is a contractual obligation

To your DESKTOP?!
You know your system scans your windows folder (& therefore your desktop) on startup. Putting too much crap in there slows startup.
Why not put it in My Docs or something?

Well guys.. there is not going to be a going back in BF2 is there?

As some people put before in some threads.. It's just not only DICE that fkkd up in this game.. It's the player community themselves.. jepp admins, spawnrapers.. and complainers too. That's life.

So what can we do together? Patch 1.3 or just wondering when the next Patch gonna be released? Play!
Have fun. Don't give a rat's ass about K/D ratio, score per minute, knifekills.. soon there is gonna be a new game anyway.. that everybody just must gonna play?

That's interesting that you should notice that. The reason that that painting by Seurat is special and possibly what caused Cameron to stare at it so long is that it was created using a technique called pointillism. A quick read in what that is...

Pointillism is a style of painting in which non-primary colors are generated by the visual mixing of points of primary colors placed very close to each other. The method is also known as Divisionism. This technique was in contrast to current methods of creating non-primary colors, including mixing pigment in the palette or using pigments out of a tube.

When viewed from a distance, the points or dots cannot be distinguished, and blend optically into each other. This means that with the same set of primaries, pointillists generate a different range of colors when compared to artists using traditional colors or color-mixing techniques. The result is sometimes described as brighter or purer since the eye does the mixing and not the brush. An explanation for this could be sought in the subtractive and additive theories of color.

Usually when colors are produced by pigments being mixed physically, the subtractive color theory is at work. Here the mixing of pigments of the primary colours produces less light; so if we mix red, blue and yellow pigments(subtractive primaries), we get a colour close to black. However when colours are produced by the mixing of light, then the additive color theory is at work. Here the mixing of lights of the three primary colours produces more light; so if we mix red, blue and green light(additive primaries) we get something close to white light. The brighter effect of pointillist colours could rise from the fact that subtractive mixing is avoided and something closer to the effect of additive mixing is obtained even through pigments.

The brushwork used to perform pointillistic color mixing is at the expense of traditional brushwork which could be used to delineate texture. Color television receivers and computer screens, both CRT and LCD, use tiny dots of primary red, green, and blue to render color, and can thus be regarded as a kind of pointillism.

I think that I was first introduced to the painting during a course in optics a few years back.
