Do you think ranked servers should be allowed to differentiate the settings?

Currently you are allowed to change the following items only:

Server size
Map/Map size (only official ones though)
FF
weapon unlocks
timer


What I'd like to see is some actual support for mods. How about setting up some ranked mods? Or allowing greater customization of servers. Who cares if some 12 year makes general before you. BFD! It's supposed to be about gameplay and having all the same server with the same damn thing is getting old.

How about making maps infantry only? Or turning off Helos/Jets if the server admins want? Bring back the SERVER SIDE options!

Just curious if I am the only one here.

I agree.

And about the support for mods, there was this thing called ABR (Alternative Battlefield Ranking) But EA decided to get rid of in in patch 1.3....

Why? I don't know, I can only assume that they knew some of the mods put BF2 to shame....

Finally! Someone else with a voice of reason!!!

I think ERTS is sucking and they needed to preserve the old ranked server cash cow. Instead they are killing a game with soo much potential.

So see you on the UO/FH2 servers! And F-Off EA!

If mods could be made "official", so EA would check them and assign their own point system, then yes.

For turning off helo's jets... as long as there was a filter on the server browser. Maybe default options and non-default.

exactly! I mean why not be able to limit the tanks ... or whatever.

I feel that the ranks system has killed the game because EA is so worried about people getting stats they are killing the game play.

Also, what if I wanted to turn UP the number of tanks or planes? Make it something like 20 tanks in Karkand ... it'd be crazy but FUN!!!

I don't get it, you say you don't care about stats but you want modded maps/server to ranked so you can get point from them If you don't care, then nothing is stopping you to play on them, no need to have them ranked.

I'm not for or against it... I'm saying your statement contradicts itself.

Because no-one plays on servers that aren't ranked. (But I like where your heads at)

I'd prefer if they dropped the whole ranked server system all together. It's killing this game ... maybe it'll keep the diehards playing in the end though. You know when BF3 comes out but you just need 100,000 more points to make General or something ... (but now that's actually BAD for EA too since they aren't moving on to the new game).

They are currently testing an infantry only option on a new map.
No idea if it's gonna be in the next patch though.
