How come a tank round doesn't destroy a jet?

it's BF2... everythign is screwed up.
Last night I hit a chopper with a tank shell(to the cockpit) and it didn't do any damage. Was messing around in an unranked server with some clanmates and I hit a chopper like 4 times with a tank and it didn't do any damage.
Kinda like when you knife somebody but all you get is a puff of dust.
Also notice you got carpet bombed and didn't die. He's probably wondering the same things you are lol.

Im not sure whether he received a direct hit or not but anyway a bomb is not enough to destroy a tank from the front. But a direct hit in the back of the tank will destroy it.=[4th]=SlayThem wrote:

but about the shell in the face of the f15, its all about lag ... I know that you know but its the same thing with lots of games, if it was against bots, you would have got the kill.

Also, al my time in a jet, I don't have to get close to the tank to kill it with those bombers.
I've done that a few times, I also know it's happened to me a few times because I can hear the clink of a tank shell hitting. Since they added projectile deflection into the patch the physics got a little weird. If you're going full speed in a jet you're practically impervious to tank shells, they just ricochet off. The mg hits tho. I think if they slow down just a little you can hit the underbelly and get a kill but ya it's jacked up. That guy was just a poor pilot, that's why you barely got damaged. The bombers can destroy a tank if they just get two of those bombs next to the tank, since they have 5 you're usually dead.
Last night I was on Kubra Dam and accidentally took down a friendly jet with a SRAW when he tried to beat me to a kill of an enemy Cobra. I've seen SRAW/jet kills on strafing runs but never one at that altitude.
