Hi to everyone in the forums this is my first post(rant) so please be gentle, I have watched these forums for a while now but never commented on the various topics on show but now feel compelled to do so, I was just wondering I am i weird or do any other people that play BF2 have similiar gaming habits or thoughts as me on the BF2 servers, they are as follows;
1.Fun Factor: I play for fun, yes you know get on a server and just blast away with gay abandon, forgetting about all your daily worries and just shooting the living shit out of some poor soul who just bought the game and runs the wrong way or in circles and just stands there while your shredding him with the PKM yes shred him but shred fairly.
2.No Hax: I dont hack, exploit, pad, glitch or use any other form of "performance enhancement", I have played online shooters for a while (started with CS pre steam) and never used any cheat and just play the game in it's most basic form, hell I even leave the keyboard in it's default config. Maybe i'm stupid but to use cheats doesn't feel right and takes away from a great online game. To use hax would be downright embarrassing and admitting that I have no real skill or brainpower. I'm not saying I'm the greatest player (some days far from it) but my stats are exactly that mine with no help or assistance.
3.Trashtalk&Teamkilling: I dont talk shit online it’s lame, I basically just sit there and play while all the idiots around you are arguing and abusing eachother because player 1 walked infront of player 2 and was Teamkilled then Player 1 punishes player 2 because he thinks he was deliberately teamkilled, player 2 now scorned and punished sets about deliberately teamkilling player 1 and so it goes blah blah blah, while initially amusing it usually just develops into a personal battle and with often both sides yelling at eachother and making derogatory remarks about their opponent's mother. Just get over it and play ffs, its only a damn game and petty bickering achieves nothing.
Just for the record I don't punish, but if its deliberate or just plain stupid I do, most times there is no reply.
4.My Crap Connection/Dodgy Netcode: While I don't blame my 512k connection for my sometimes substandard score there are times when its downright unfair, you can see the other player aiming up and coming towards you and you're pressing that left mouse button as hard as it can go.....arghhh!, you're now on the ground calling "medic" and wondering wtf just happened or You're standing at the hotel in Mashhtur, just about to run down the hill oooof!!! youre calling "medic" again, top left (noobhead kills Big Ed [L96A1]) and you realise that you didn't even get close to spawning, or Karkand in the tunnel.... bang bang bang you hear the noise and pray that you got out of it, nope ...top left again (noobhead kills Big Ed [LAV]), mostly you live with a little lag, but there are times when it's just plain wrong and you are dying with no real control or chance.
5. Plane/Heli Whores: Its been said before, but it’s annoying when some player just hogs the J10 and bombs everything in sight and just owns the map, or some fool on your own side that will not give up that plane for anything, and tk’s you for even thinking about pinching the plane! The MEC Helicopter Z10 the bane of all infantry on most maps especially Sharqi, your running to that next control point with some squad around, you make that CP lying there watching the flag raise WOOT!!!, got me some points here……doh!! that damn Z10 just took out my entire squad plus some extras, that bloody pilot just got about 7 kills fark!!!!!
There you go the BF2 world according to Big Ed, this is a not a complaint post far from it, I think BF2 is a great game as was BF1942, but there are some aspects of our beloved game that drive me crazy sometimes,
I’m a simplistic bastard yes, so feel free to flame away.
