Recently since I got my new graphics card I'd been experiencing sever FPS drops everytime I climbed into a plane/chopper.
My FPS would go from 75 to around 25, just from taking off. I figured it was a strain on the GPU while being in the air. Totally plausable, but annoying, I thought. After a little bit, my FPS would jump back up to 60, so I figured maybe textures were being loaded and then things just smooth out.
Today I went to download AF, and realized my HD was full. Major bummer, but not the first time it's happened because of my 80GB dated main drive. I scanned my programs on add/remove looking for which ones to can, and came across my newly downloaded program FRAPS to help me figure out the max settings for my new graphics card. FRAPS had 9.5 GB of file space taken up. WTF!?
I go into the folder for FRAPS and realize there must be a couple hundered videos in there. Then it hit me! I hit F9 everytime I get into a plane or chopper to get rid of the cockpit, and it just so happens F9 is the video record button on FRAPS.... Records 30 seconds of video, then quits. Severe FPS drops are a side effect lol.
Talk about an "OMFG how could I be that dumb?" experience lol. Oh well, glad I figured it out lol.
