A friend of mine who wants to play BF2 bought a Dell E310 about a month ago. Apparently the built in video will not work with the game. He wants to try putting in a new video card, but the only slots he has available are 1 PCI-X x1 slot and 2 PCI slots, which restricts the card to a PCI card.

Well, after some searching, he's decided on a Diamond Stealth S9250PCI256, which has an ATI Radeon 9250 and 256mb of mem. Before he buys it, though, he wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this card on BF2. Any input is appreciated.

the ati radeon 9250 is the same card as the radeon 9200.. the 50 means that it is pci version

Ive had a 9200 with a p4c 3,0 ghz and 1 gig of ram and Ive to say that its playable with everyting on low.. I hadn't 60 fps but I could have fun even though my gaming experience was not perfect

Agreed. For good reasons...I've had some dells and there is basically NO bios configuration settings. This screwed me over more than a few times. Not to mention you can build a far superior system for probably less money.

I haven't used the ATI 9250 (PCI), but I have used the BFG nVidia 6200 w/ 256 MB (PCI Bus, 1.5 Gig memory, P4 3.0) and I can tell you that BF2 plays with decent frame rates (rare lag), 1152x864 screen size and many of the settings on Medium.  But, that BFG card is $$$$$$$.

I had a 9250 and I couldnt even start up the game.  raska says he played with it so it may have been somehting else in my system, but I had to buy a new video card.  Oh, and EA says that the 9200 series doesnt work with BF2 on the BF2 support site.
