BF2S Forums Simple crosshair question

well some weapons dont have them, like the sniper rifle, c4, mines, and claymores, but otherwise they all have it. Do you mean a zoom in crosshair (on the gun) or a HUD crosshair (computer point showing where the gun is pointing)?

do you mean a scope ?

There were never iron sights on attack helicopter guns. If you mean the HUD's gone then I don't know what the heck happened.

What I am trying to say is that I can't aim any of the vehicle mounted guns like I could before. There is just a barrel in the view and no aiming guide.

So... if I re-install.. how do I not lose my ID, unlocks etc??

when you re-install you just click manage accounts and then you just put in your ID (name and password) then it will just load up your profile as normal and will have all your unlocks etc, you will have to redo any controls you changed as you will lose your profile (well you dont have to when you uninstall but I would incase the problem lies there as it only takes a few mins to change any controls again)

I also installed and updated punkbuster. Can this application affect the game?? Or is it simply limited to closing you out of servers if you are a lame hacker?

well I guess... but I just have never used it since installing in January

Or you can make a backup of your profile.  Go into your My Documents folder and open the Battlefield 2 file.  Then, right click on the folder called "Profiles" and select copy.  Go to another location, right click and select paste (make sure you remember where you put it).

Delete and re-install as per the instructions found here:  http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/showthread.php?t=1470

Once you've re-installed and patched up fully, reverse the above process, making sure you overwrite the new Profile folder that will have been created.

This will not only save all of your login details, but also your key maps, game settings etc.  It will also stop yu having to listen to the disembodied voice explaining all of the games mechanics (so you won't find yourself screaming "I have 20,000 points in this fucking game, I think I know how to reload", at your screen every 5 minutes:))

One other thing to consider though.  I know you said you checked the HUD transparency, but did you check whether you'd changed the crosshair colour?
