The other day I had something I haven't seen in about 200 hours of flying the chopper. On Gulf of Oman, as MEC in the Mi-28 Havoc, I was flying my friend around: we were almost completely stationary, lining up a TV missle shot around the burning oil rigging by the MEC base, about 200 feet in the air. All of the sudden I hear the loud sound of a jet coming close and then the "thunk" of it colliding with me...but instead of crashing us both (and this server DOES have FF on, if it WAS a friendly jet), the collision sets us into a midair spin like a gyroscope, rotating horizontally and diagonally at like 500 RPM. We sat in the same spot spinning so rapidly I could discern nothing other than the spinning motion for at LEAST 5-7 seconds...the rotation slowed towards the end, but we probably spun around at least 50 times, no exaggeration.
Now I've had collisions in midair that were slight bumps and no one dies or even takes damage, and I've had times that I get hurt but lived thru the collision...this is usually the case if someone sees they are about to hit you, and then do their damndest to miss you. But I have NEVER seen a collision like this, because to make us spin so rapidly I'm assuming the jet was going full blast when he hit us, and our chopper took literally no damage from it.
To top it all off, when we stopped spinning we were facing almost the exact same direction with only about 5 feet of altitude lost, and continued on our merry way towards another successful TV-missling as we both struggled to come to grips with the reality of our uber-invincibleness. I know crazy stuff happens all the time in this game (mysterious tank hits that register but do no damage to what they hit, laggers that seem invincible because of their 200 ping and rapid bunnyhopping, etc.), but I've never seen something like this in a chopper in quite a bit of time flying. Anyone had this happen to them?
