Wondering if and how much your soundcard affects gameperformance?(except ofcourse in soundquality)
If its an onboard sound you can take up to 25% of your CPU cycles in addition to RAM. Always go with a soundcard with its own DSP.
i have an audiophile 192 made by m-audio, but it might be more then what you need( just a little). its $200 though if you want it.
If all you want to do is remove the load of sound decoding from your onboard motherboard sound decoder then I would highly suggest the Sound Blaster Live. $30.00 US

Blaster X-Fi is a soundcard...other blasters are more or even more pure shit.
