Hi guys Please dont shout, I did search but my problem does seem different to the ones already posted, I'm not crashing at the join game point or when the game is loading.

My game did seem fine after installing Patch 1.3 and this problem has just started this weekend, I have been on holiday for the week before and the game was fine before I went and now its crashing.

My BF2 game has started crashing to desktop, it also happens in Special Forces as well, I join a game its seems alright to begin with, but after a few minutes game play It will go to a black screen and crash to desktop. Some times a round can finish and it will crash on the next round, sometimes it just crashes after awhile.

My Specs meet the requirements, I have the latest graphic card driver installed, I have also re-installed the game over and over again, trying the full patch and with the smaller ones, I have updated punkbuster and have turn off background stuff like the EA support site said try.

But still I am crashing to desktop, Please Help!!!!!!

I havent had one full round all weekend

its not your computer its the 1.3 patch....everr since that patch my battlefield application will shut down somtimes during loading and join game.....even wen i am in a game somtimes it will do it also its the patch

Yeah, we know. It's a big reason why I don't play as much as I used to. The game crashes randomly, I get connection problems every ten minutes or so...it's a pain in the ass.

It seems updating punkbuster helped me alot with the connection issues.

The same thing happens to me now. I get on a server and finish the round but then when i get in the next round it crashes and i have to restart. Its pissing me off and I have the latest PB update so it cant be that. I hate this patch and I hate EA

The thing is when i installed the patch the game worked fine, there was some server crashes.

But now it has just started crashing me to desktop.

Has anyone of you guys had this happen, it works fine for a couple of weeks then starts crashing?

I have a theory, I think its fraps that makes it crash more. Turn off fraps if your crashing and see what happens.

HI guys thanks for all your help so far.

Just a quick update I have tryed single player and that is also crashing to desktop after a few minutes into game.

So I'm just wondering could it be some thing overheating?

I have checked my graphics card and that is running at 67 degrees.

Hi guys I think I might have solved my problem, I think it was a overheating CPU.

Ive put in a new fan and now the game seems to have stopped crashing.

It seems that it's random, some work better than others. the iCafe computers for instance, although they are having the same problems, it happens less frequently. The game is still playable, but it just crashes every now and then.
EA need a patch patch again. Do they even think before releasing their shit?

My Bf2 used to crash EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! But now, oddly, it has just stopped. Haven't crashed in over a week straight ))

Maybe your problem will just go away then?

For me it was the same...a week or two nice playing than hell got loose.

CTD, connection loss you name it, I've got it.

...and I agree it's totally unplayable now.
