so im playin yesterday, and i squad up as usual. we are runin around cappin flags and then my sl tells us to attacks the central base on Daqing Oilfields. well, this sl seems to be a sniper who uses the assualt kit. anyway i rush over in my dune buggy and get fragged by a tank(oh joy). so i check my spawn point and see the leader is right there at the base so i spawn on her. i spawn on top of a water heater lookin thing next to the flag... two seconds later im dead. it seems as if i looked american (we were chinese), np she prolly got scared, i forgive her. i spawn on her again this time i make it to the flag, im running around lookin for any opposition. i find it, i didnt think i reacted and let of four rounds (g3) droppin em. i see it was a sqaudie no sooner than i turn around i get dropped by the REAL enemy who had no prob bcuz of the squadies shots. anyway, when i re-spawn im punished for a tk???? all i ever do is forgive... unless i know for a fact its done purposely. then when im in cqc (everyones tryin to play hero) amd drop a nade and stand out in the open to draw in the enemy for kills someone runs into it....PUNISHED FOR A TK. all you punishers who get mad cuz you die... move out the way, pay attention to whats happening, or hell go bunny hop to hell!
I shoot at green names alot because of this. The name doesn't pop up as fast as the blue ones. Usually by time I go to fire I'll see the name and I can jerk the barrel away and miss but sometimes you get a headshot and a punish, thus is life on the battlefield..
Well, the only reason for a tk, I accept, is a scare on my behave or I run into their fire...If you shoot'em if they have a red name, that I don't accept, LOOK AT THE UNIFORM!!!!!!!!
I also don't punish unless it was a blatent TK meaning some jack hole's going around TKing everyone to hell.
Some people are way to quick to punish anyone who messes up and accidentally kills them. Especially, running around corners at opposing flags or dropping a teammate at a flag you're trying to defend because you misidentified him as the capper.
I notice most people will automatically press page down if they don't recognize the player that TKed them because there going to hear it from their buddies if they do. But they are more than willing to deal the punish to someone they don't know.
On the other hand I don't mind being punished. It's only 6 points (max). 1 punish in a round isn't going to kill you. You shouldn't being TKing people more than once every 2 rounds anyways (on foot, in a bomber its a different story).
Nobody likes being TKed me included but more people should swallow their pride and show a little gamesmanship and forgive. Chalk it up to accidental friendly fire it makes the game much more fun.

A side note for this, if you accidentally tk, say you're sorry whenever possible. I very rarely punish but one thing that will make me punish or at least really contemplate punishing is if I get gunned down by friendly infantry with no enemies in sight and they don't bother pressing q and clicking sorry. That's basically inexcusable.
I always say I'm sorry but usually the punish shows up so fast its before I even get a chance to hit 'Q'. Even if I get punished I still say I'm sorry and usually type a quick note apologizing to the team.
i've noticed that when youre in a heli, sometimes the names dont show up as they should. also, since youre aiming above the person youre firing missiles at, its hard to know if theyre friend or foe if theyre in a vehicle. ive gotten a few TKs from killing friendlies in vehicles. its a shame too...some of those were nice shots lol
I always mark my targets before firing if I'm unsure, but I'm usually not since the compass tells all. Most of the time you'll want to line up your target first in a heli and fire a single missile to make sure it's flight path is going to hit, then unload.ThomasMorgan wrote:

I always say sorry, even if I know it was their own stupidity that caused it. But if I see that I was punished after apologzing, I'll take it back and tell them to go fuck themselves usually.. accidental tk punishes are an epidemic in this game.

True, true... I get really purturbed when I say I'm sorry and then still get punished. It makes me want to go and really TK them but then again that only hurts the team. I'm also afraid of getting booted

EA should just remove the damn punish/not punish and make all TKs -3 points. There are too many jackasses out there who apparently have the pagedown key glued down, just incase they can't hit it within a half a second of an accidental teamkill. Just look at my stats, 98% of my TKs are accidentally bombing teamates (damn friendly vehicles show up as targets if someone has just jumped out) and the other 2% are reserved for people who deliberately TK me or allies repeatedly.
When I've done something stupid, or if it's just a mad firefight, I never punish. But if it's a clear and avoidable mistake by a teammate - say him noobtubing us both by accident, or a heli lining me up and putting rockets into the tank I'm in - then I might punish ... depending on a how the teammate acts. IThe TK options stays longer than the respawn time, so I always wait until I respawn for a sorry. (That way, if my teammate is also dead, I give him a chance to apologise.) Assuming he does, I never punish. Bottom line is that the people that deliberately TK don't apologise, for obvious reasons, and should be punished. Most deliberate TKs on me have been when I've been running for a plane or heli, and in all likelyhood I've been TK'd by a whore, in which case, a minus 6 or 8 or whatever might actually matter to them.
Meanwhile, I've been punished more than enough, regardless of the fact that I always apologise, whether with an automated response, typed, or over comms. Most of the times, it seems I mostly get punished by people too stupid to see mines, claymores or who run in front of my light machine gun when I'm prone and firing. The people that I TK in more 'reasonable' situations tend to be more understanding that these things happen.
One thing that bugs me is that TKs count even if people are revived, don't they? I mean, I've accidently killed someone, grabbed his med kit and revived him, and still been punished. *Sigh*
