Hello all. Just looking for reccomendations for some descent mods to try out. The only one i'm really aware of is Forgotten Hope 2 which is still under developement.

look in the files section of the site. you should find some good ones there, i guess. the battleracer mod is a ton of fun on gaming night.
United States Intervention is a great kick ass mod
USI is great, bunch should be coming out over summer.

Project Reality is supposed to be able to improve upon your BF2 skills heavily and it encourages squad play more than regular BF2

I haven't played PRMM in a few months but USI is awesome. No one has really been on and something is up with the ticket bleed. The matches I've played seem to only last 10 minutes with, at the most, 20 people on.Vampira_NB wrote:

I have played both and found that Poject Reality Mini Mod has great gameplay with some awesome maps. I love the fact that you can't take just any flag, they must be taken in order... this focus on single choke points and makes for some awesome fire fights.
US Intervention has some awesome airplanes and the A-10 kicks the crap outta anything Dice or EA has tried to give us. The A-10 in USI has rocket pods, 8 bombs and the effect the gun has on any object it hits makes my pants fly around the room.
Both are worthy to give a try... they take some getting used to at first. But after a few rounds, especially in PRMM, Regular BF2 will seem like a basic shooter and will seem empty.

But wont BF2142 piss off alot of mods in the process or wont it be a problem cause they can just port over the mods?
USI is a very good mod. Like someone else said, though, the maps are bland. There's a lot of empty spaces on the maps. A lot. But the maps have insane amounts of armor. There's multiple kind of Humvee's. Choppers are intense. The Apache pilot has 19 rockets armed AT A TIME, and control of laser guided missiles. The Hind pilot has 25 rockets armed at a time. and control of laser guided missiles. Gunner can zoom in with their cannon. They handle differently, and on some maps the game gets real choppy when I am in the Hind. (There is no reason my computer should be choppy so it's not on my end,) but that only happens when I am online, not if I create a local and test things out. If you're a plane-whore, rejoice in the A-10, because it is naaaaaaaasty. Shooting the gun slows you down it's so powerful. It puts you in reverse if you shoot it before you take off. Engineers have stingers, AT have mines. Oh, and the armor is fast. None of this three hours to get to a distant flag stuff.
About installing it, it's simple. I think it came RAR'ed, or maybe ZIPed, so just un-whatever it, and the .exe file should execute to the corrent directory (your bf2 path). There's a hotfix that needs to be downloaded after that, it will prevent your game from crashing. It's basically the same as the mod, just download and install, it directs itself to the right path.
