Smooth Mouse!!

Rite I have a problem with how smooth the movement is in BF2.
On other games its fine but in BF2 its abit notchy, a real problem when sniper, cross hair can leap all around someone, so instead of a nice smooth fluid movement it moves in small leaps, leaving me a easy kill for all but the most dumb sniper.
Is this due to a setting, I've looked but I can't find anything.
Is this a problem anyone else has had??.
Anyone know how to resolve it??

Thought it was the mouse in the first place but it seems fine in other games.

What kind of mouse is it?

Because i have a Razer diamondback Plasma mouse and it is so smooth on bf2 and other games..

my mouse runs 6400+ FPS

Its a Microsoft thingy, not a mega mouse, but it runs fine on other games, just BF2 I have problems with it.

Set Flip Queue Size to zero in your videocard settings. It really helps with mouse lag...if the lag is video process related.

Diamondback Plasma ftw.
and the little neoprene pouch you get is just, funny.

As an aside, what mousing surfaces are you guys using?

Also, have you changed the sensitivity in your BF2 controls? This might help with the laggy movement.

Yeah check your ping when you enter a game. If you are joining a game by clicking on the "Play Online Now" BF2 icon, then you might end up joining servers which result in you having a high ping. Try finding server to play on in your area, i.e. if you are in the UK play on the EA UK servers or servers in France/Other Close European contries. If you end up on a server which is in Tailand, then you will have a high ping and will cause the game to be jumpy/jerky.

My ping is usually around 30, and I join servers by selecting one with a low ping.
I thought it may be caused by using the mouse on the desks surface, but as I said it works fine on other games, just BF2 its abit jerky.
Had a look in the settings but I can't find anything.

Just to check you don't get this only when you're zoomed in, it's just more of a problem when trying to aim with the scope, is that right?

I'd check your graphics settings; I doubt it's the mouse sensitivity but you could play with that too. Sounds like your settings are just too high for the graphics card, lots of people play with many of them set to low and off (dynamic shadows off being very common). I use 1024 x 768 x 60 at:

Low
Medium
Low
Low
Off
Medium
Off
Low

With the View Distance Scale set at 100% and I generally get decent performance unless the ping is 140 or more when the lagginess of the connection causes its own problem.

I'm using a generic Microsoft laser optical mouse and it's acceptable for me.

Yeah I might try turning down some settings, you can notice it jumping when not scoped in but its not to bad, justa arse when, you trying to snipe a sniper and you get the first chance but crosshair jumps all around him then bosh your dead!, toke to long he thinks he pawnd you when infact you should have got him if only my b*stard mouse would work!, happens alot, but oh well.
