Lately I've been finding myself unable to join a squad or apply for commander.  Nothing happens at all when I click a join squad button on an unlocked and less than full squad.  I noticed that I can use the custom squad button and assign it a name though once I click the apply button it just dumps me back to the squad screen without creating it.  I've also been unable to join a squad when invited.  Additionally, I also cannot apply for commander when the position is empty.  I can click the button but nothing happens.

At first I thought this problem was specific to AF but since I have noticed this problem in all severs I've tried.  I am getting this problem in about 50% of rounds, even on the same server, one round it will work, and the next I'm stuck as lone wolf for the round.  Seems completely random to me....

Anyone else here know anything about this problem?  I've not been able to find posts about it here.....

i get this sometimes to,its extremely annoying and dont know why it wont let me join.
i think i will name this problem "wtf is the deal with this shit bug"

Try doing it when you're not dead.
The patch won't let you do any of those things while the game is in progress and while you are dead.

Or is that what you're talking about? It won't let you do that while you're alive?

Now there's a glimmer of hope, I usually take care of such things while in limbo so that may explain it.  I'm off to see if I experience this bug while in game or not.

Not sure to tell you the truth.....I wanna say that I've tried it both ways but no way to say for sure.  I'll go in game and find out for sure.

Ya this has been happening alot to me lately(20 or so times with the new patch) so frustrating.. cant apply for commander, cant create a squad, custom squad tab opens but doesnt allow you to create it, ive also been squad leader during a round/map change and was not able to leave the squad or anyone able to join it

I know that I was playing once and no one could apply for command position.  Everyone in my clan tried, and we did not get the Press Page Up to become commander, or that the request timed out.  We were MEC on Gulf.

this happens to my friend all the time but only on their computer. ever when alive they can't create or join a squad (they can be invited though) but they can apply for commander so they've been doing that alot

I had this once the other night - and only on EU on Great Wall. And oddly enough, only if I switched team at the end of the round....if i stuck with the team it put me on, then it was fine.

This is not a bug created by 1.3.  It has been around for quite a while.  I see it once in a blue moon, not sure what causes it.  Nobody can join or create a squad, nobody can apply to be commander.  Doesn't matter if you're alive or dead.  It seems to hit both sides, so the bug doesn't just handicap one team.  It usually disappears when the map cycles.
