Its not bad if you join a server late in the round and got spawn killed a lot with no time to redeam yourself.

I would say no but people take pride in getting them. I, personally, would not want it. It means you have had a very, very bad round.
For a nice remark here you go.......No it is not a good thing to get. It just shows that you died alot more then trying to kill in the game. The medal is kind of a stupid medal for the game. They shouldn't have put it in.

i also got one, had a very bad round on karkand, got killed the moment i spawned alot of times in a row, stil managed ot end the round 21-25 but the dmg was done.

iv realised that yes ok it is a bad thing but even if your having a good round score wise you can still get it - i was on wake and i was the 2nd best scorer between the two teams, with like 54 thing is these were mostly team points and few kills, i died alot during a big standoff over the bridge and thus i got my purple heart award - i did kill a few more people after that (without dieing) so i believe if that happens you dont get the award.

I got mine the 1st day the game was out, TKed many times. People didnt know who to shoot. But those who think its a noob award, cuz they dont have one. Im add your names to a list. Ill find you, TK the shit outta u, and provide you your own "noob" award. How you like that? Just cuz u wanna say its a noob award.
I let my buddy (who had never played bf2 before) use my account for about 2 hours. For some reason, I wasn't thinking about my stats. Just watched him get pwned over and over again, lol.
Anyway, I think the only reason he didn't earn me a purple heart was that he didn't get the required 5 kills! He did beat my death streak, though.

if you get a purple heart for any reason apart from being spawnraped massively, you're either very new to the game or you're not too good in general
