I'll look at buying BF2142 when BF2 works fine and dandy and preferably they take back the medals that I did not earn. Until such time they should consider renaming the series BDSM, because you'd have to love pain to buy a sequel to BF2.

And I'm not even considering buying the EF or AF expansions without a functional Vanilla.

It's really quite simple.....a secret government plot actually.....

The "shadow government" (a secret government which actually moves our "psuedo" government like puppets on strings) has decided to come out of the shadows and finaly flex their muscles.  They have infiltrated EA/DICE and are using them (and us) for their OWN nefarious deeds.  High level operatives from the shadow government have assumed various positions as execs., coders, and animators at EA/DICE and have been secretly training us in the art of warfare and manipulating our emotions to better suit their needs.

Think about it.  We've been trained on the battlefield in all manner of warfare tactics.  We are familliar with all manner of weapons, transport, support, parachutes, aerial delivery, hell, even the chain of command.  We've been trained and given the bloodlust to kill kill kill.  We train on the battlefield when we wake, we train before we sleep, and yes, we even find ourselves going over tactics in our heads when we SLEEP!  Jesus, this thing they've created goes deep into the psyche.....much, much deeper than I had originally thought.  I'm beginning to get quite nervous that the final patch is nearing completion.

Our government has been quietly wrapping up plans to announce a selective draft in the next few weeks.  Can you guess who that draft will be targeting????  Yes.....the newly trained elite soldiers of BF2.  But what about all the muttonheads you ask?  Even the best of nefarious schemes will produce some failures. This is where the stat system comes into play.  Once this plan springs to action, men in black will be visiting death and destruction to the muttonheads of BF2 in the night, not to worry though......they wont feel a thing (ughh....the men in black that is...)

Notice how edgy we've all been feeling lately, how the endless bugs and crashes have been making us feel?  PISSED OFF right?  Well that just plays us right into their hands.  After all, what uber soldier is worth his salt if he's not bloody well pissed off and ready to kill without hesitation.  I feel it's getting close.  The latest patch has wound us up another notch toward our killing frenzy.  Many of us would like to storm EA/DICE immediately....that will never happen.

The next patch will introduce a new technology to BF2.  Unfortunately, it will be incompatible with our previous memories.  We will remember nothing but our training and our mission.  KILL.  We will be rounded up one by one very soon by these same men in black,  taken to an underground facility for our last and final patch (a sub-crainial thought induction therapy).  From this patch.....there is no return.

The road to world domination will be difficult, and not without loss (so sorry, but there will be no respawn in this battle).  This may be difficult for many of you to digest all at once but if your choices are US or THEM, I'd suspect you would be better off as US.  THEM might not fare as well.  Besides, it's not like you have a choice in this anyway.

If you are to survive this battle for world domination, might I suggest that you leave this forum immediately and get back to your training, by god you are going to need it soldier.

Funny thing about that is, Im so sick of EA, Dice.....or any other party involved.Not being able to put out a product that works, or patches to fix the exsisting ones, I talked myself into going back to school,just finished my first week of software and computer programming.One day soon, Ill fix what EA etc.... cant do right

How about this one.

DICE is a company and as such out to make money.  To do that, they put their best talent on creating new and better games (ie BF2142).

They therefore have to put less qualified, less talented employees on the task of maintaining their current crop of games.  Less skill = worse quality = people YET AGAIN moaning about "omfg it's a conspiracy they hate us".

Please realise that the whole ideology of EA, DICE, Microsoft, Dell, Lucasarts, Disney etc etc is to make money.  It is not to provide what the customer wants except to the extent that it can increase their profits and the wealth of it's shareholders.

Ok my theory:

DICE bought the code to a pilot/beta modern combat game from another game studio before it was finished. They finished it, but since the game was mostly complete, it was easy to release. However, now that they need to do patches, they don't know how to work with the code--as they didn't write the gist of it--so all the patches screw the game up.

Basically my theory is that they don't completely understand the BF2 code they're patching.
