BF2S Forums Update 1.4 ??? First Sargeant, Basic Badge Problem!!!!

OMG man, it aint that dam hard to get ure basic badges, its so easy man. personally i dont see the problem and i think EA should leave the first sergent rank as it is.

Dude, its a bug - if you get your vet and basic at the same time it doesnt count..

yeah. nothing we can do, I'm afraid. maybe EA will issue a fix with the next patch, but I wouldn't bet on that.

I guess it was meant to be a "reward" for people who had all basic badges early in the game, basically those who pay a lot of attention to awards, ribbons and badges ( in contrast to those who play simply for the fun of it ).

I won't get to 50,000 GP until april of next year, so I am in no hurry...

By the way, folks, please learn to post in the correct subforums. This is obviously no feature request for bf2s.com.

You don't see the problem? This screwed alot of ppl anf the fix they did.. changing basic to 5 so you could get it first, was too little too late. I was over 30k when the patch came out and didn't have basic knife or pistol. So I spent a night dedicated to getting them. As many of us did I ended up getting basic and vet at the same time, thusly screwing myself out of First Seargent because of Dice's sloppy coding. I'm about to find out tonight or tommorow tho if you can skip First Seargent...

lol. the pic reminds me of a racing game i used to have for my TI-83+ calculator - "Espirit Racing"

Dice = programming/bug fixes/development
EA = distribution/pay checks/deadlines

Ideas and Direction of game content is from both EA/Dice

Much of the issues we have now are due to pressue from EA. Timelines that are too strict, too fast and with not enough playtesting. If given the correct amount of time to develop the game fully and to code cleaner I think Dice would have been fine.  If the game was released 3 to 6 months later than it was with much more indepth playtesting outside LAN parties, we wouldn't be having issues or as many issues as we do now.  Personally I think Epic would have done much better with the game but it's EA's property.
