Yes some people are not having the connection problem...not sure what the new patch did to certain rigs. It caused some server problems for sure. But sometimes it jacks me up even when the server is stable.

I have 2 gigs of ram, ATI x1900 512 MB card and Athlon dual core processor, maybe it has something to do with the dual core and the new patch.

I run all settings maxed and lots of background stuff I even was downloading and playing before this patch. lol

It says that but its actually not. Because the server crashes. And EVERYONE gets disconnected. Before the stupid 1.3 patch i got a disconnection error maybe every 15 hours of playing time. i read somewhere that there is indeed a comflict between the coding in the patch and how the data is processed by a dual core processor..

search about for that one though as i may have misinterpreted

its due to unstable server coding brought on by the last patch. it kicks people from the server, BUT the server doesnt always crash. Alot of the times you can reconnect instanly, and be on thhe same map. Some servers are 'looping' get into a map, and at the same point each map will start over, kicking all players.
Its would only be your connection maybe 2% of the time since the patch.
Unstable netcode=unstable servers.

FOR LAST FUCKING TIME, its not my connection, i never get drops in connections, it has to do with this new patch. I tryed reseting the router, and changing cables, and played some other games for the same amount of time. No drops, play battlefield for 20 mins, droped connection

Dude, I know its not your connection. I'm having the same troubles. I connect and play a round and a half, then bam! I have tested my connection time and time again by either playing a different game or just spot checking it at broadbandreports.com. Its the same story, CS:S plays fine for hours and BF2 crashes and burns like a little bitch. Sometimes I get dropped from the server, most times the server completely crashes. A few servers I regularly play on have messages on the load screen about patch problems and please reconnect and so on... The server browser is complete poop. If I idle the game in BFHQ for more than 5 minutes, I gotta restart the game because the browser won't update shit and it will 'delete' all of my favorites if I click the update button.
I play when BF2 decides to let me do so, and wring my hands in anticipation of 1.31 in the mean time.

sorry mate but not true. xtra severs crash about every two hours on average and i know its the entire sever not just me because it dissapears from the sever list when just a moment ago it was a full 64 player. also i had never been kicked on xtra severs before 1.3 so it actually might not be his computer having connection eras

I don't care what the problem is just as long as its fixed. I've been really optimistic about all the patches so far, but i think i've learnt my lesson. As much as i want it fixed i don't want EA/DICE to fuck anything else up. And i want squad hopping back.
