Server Crash

Hi there i just wanted to know how many server admins.owners are on this forum, and to ask a qucik question:

After patch 1.3, our server has crashed 3times in the last 2 days randomly, we order our server from multiplay.co.uk and was wondering who you rent your server from and if it crash's radomly.

This is really starting to piss me off, server gets full for a few days, server crash's then you have to fill it up all over again its a joke.

I am getting to the point where i am just about done with this game and probably eBay my account and games, CSS has not has one fuck up since it has been released there anti cheat system works and there are no wall glitches to worry about.

So basicly who do you order your server from and does it crash randomly for no reason what so ever.

Every server I play on crashes at one time or another and they are all from different hosts. I don't think it has anything to do with the servers. I think some players have bad patches and they crash the server when they join game.

it cant be people with bad patchs it is a server side problem i think, i just want to know if anyone else has this problem, also what OS does your server use?

We keep getting server crashes and connection lost errors every 5-6 rounds or so, only started since the 1.3 patch. It's not our server providers or our fault, it's EA/Dices's fault for not testing the patch fully before they released it...

well another crash just now, i think im just about done with this game, no mroe waiting for patch's, my clan just orderd a CSS server aso i think ill be playing that, not a server that decides to crash every day.

lol I'm afraid the the anti cheat (VAC) in css doesnt work as well as you think.

Hi, on our server KS66 we have had this problem aswell and it is due to patch 1.3, i am extremly surprised that ea hasnt released a hotfix patch for this. the server will not crash but restart, thats what is happening, or atleast on all other servers, yours might be a different problem.

its actually quite complicating
but i broke it down
and with the help of NRG we figured it out

now we are looking at the EXACT cause

but i can now manipulate the crash
to work/not work. "

This is very true as we have server crashes every 5-7 hours. It's not an individuals fault its the communication between EA/PB/Gamespy actually if you look at thier first fix when they released the patch you'll see numerous connection fixes..

Yes we figured it out, brandon is a regular at the =PBF= IHOP. Initial downloaders of the incremental patch in the first day or two from the EA Downloader recieved something corrupting their installs. It may also have to do with using a disc image rather than a actual disc. THe crash pattern is one of a person with the bad install joining, having the sever crash, them trying again...till they give up. This is why the crashes happen in bursts and when the servers are not full. We were able to get this information into EA's hands and they will be fixing it in the next patch, which looks to be next month at the earliest.

Admins who are on top of things shuuld monitor who is joining their servers just before crash, you will see the person joining (BF2CC), the crash occurs just after they join.

It has been a bother for everybody, we are still working to get more information ourselves.
