I've been playing BF2 for a good amount of time in the past half-year, started out rather poorly as its been my first FPS on a PC (Halo 2 beforehand though). Been gettin better and climbing up the ranks, managed to reach 100 today in KDR! 203 for W/L! According to history, I'm actually playing at a 6.25 KDR now so I might even be able to get into the top 50 before 2142 comes out.

I don't actually gun in choppers, I pretty much exclusively fly them. This is because I know when I'm flying that I'm not going to be fighting a mountain or trees, which will pretty much always result in the chopper losing. I do occasionally solo-gun though, as its pretty easy to do.

Starting a new account will more accurately reflect on how well you are playing currently. If I were to do so, I would have a 6.25+ KDR, LOLtacular is actually my first BF2 account and my first online PC FPS game.

Its a lot easier than it looks though, if you think things through before rushing in you tend to die a lot less frequently. For example, I haven't entered the Karkand meat-grinder zone south of Hotel in a few months which really helps out the KDR. Going around and coming from behind warrants you a good deal of kills and a lot less claymores to the face.
