Ok, I know that when you snipe at some one with the L96A1, it takes them down to 2 health ticks.

But, some times I get sniped with full health and die in one hit ..... how!?!?

Is it a headshot thing? If so, why don't people die in 1 hit when I snipe them in the face?

Another question - The basic Medic Badge requires 5 healing points in a round only ..... I have about 1200 medic points and olike 12 hours played as medic ..... rofl I have had a lot more than 5 healing points in 1 round. Why don't Ihave my badge yet!? O_O

Yes it is a headshot.  As for why your headshots don't work I'd say it's either lag, or the bullet drop over long distance.

With your second question, are you sure you've got at least five healing points (note this does NOT include reviving people) in one round?  If you are sure, then it's probably down to a crap server not recording properly.  Don't forget that in order to get heal points it requires you to heal 100% of a soldier's health (and obviously this will take more than one soldier as if they've lost 100% of their health they are dead )

Headshot = instant death

Due to the incompetence of several DICE staff the hit boxes are most likely out of whack...

From my experience you have to put the crosshairs across the top of their head.  If you are trying to hit them in the face your bullets are dropping and hitting them in the chest.

Yeah, that's correct, but the bulletdrop is really noticeable at 150-200 meters, under that range it's a minimal drop,50 meter shots are right in the center of the scope.

Headshot or hitbox screwed.  I played on a server yesterday where I was using the L96, and dropped armored and non-armored enemy players with one shot to the chest(about 30m running twards me).  Instant death.  It confused me because I saw the X and it was clearly centered in the chest.  I know that they did now have dammage bacause I watched them spawn at the surveylance area(Sharqi), run around the back of the building to the west, and turn back north, twards me on the roof top.

Question answered, thanks guys!

But, another question - at what range should I aim a little higher for the bullet drop to come into effect? Like 150 meters?

Oh yeah, I unlocked that stupid basic medic thing today ..... actually made perfectly sure that I had 5 healing points and about 20 seconds after I made my 5th healing point, I got the badge.

headshot, only way to go. That's the only thing im aiming for as a sniper, unless im trying to catch a guy running and at least take him down to two ticks, get an assist when he eventually dies. ive noticed though i cannot usually get off head shots on servers where my ping is over 80, for obvious reasons, so if you wanna get headshots, go to servers where your ping is better, obvious, i know, but some people......

Not any gun... The handguns and SMGs take two, not enough damage done (even when tripled) to kill somebody in one hit...

Then again, it's not like you have to aim at somebody's head to kill them with the SMGs or the handguns...
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Nope, only unarmoured classes. The M95 takes any class down to 2 bars, the L96A1 takes armoured guys down to 40% (?) You'll notice this when you start getting used to whipping out the pistol to finish someone off; with another sniper you just need to get them once, you have to take a little more care with an assault or support player as they can kill you in the time it takes to try to hit them with two or three handgun rounds.

Practice with a friend on an empty server and you'll see how it works.

That's a good question, I do it all the time and don't get an instant kill. Depends on their orientation to you and the range basically but if you shoot them in the helmet that'll kill them IF you get the hit indication (at longer ranges you have to aim above the head obviously). Recently I've been getting headshot after headshot on close targets (often Vodnik or Humvee gunners) that show a puff of smoke but no hit indication.

BaseballRulez19 wrote:

From about 80 metres onwards you want to start taking it into account; the longer the range the more you have to do it of course but remember it does depend a little on the angle of the person to you. Again you'll need to practice to get a 'feel' for it, if you want to be getting consistent headshots in the heat of battle the aiming point needs to be automatic.

Yep and still you can shoot someone between the eyes or on the nose and not kill them. It sucks!

They must have been hit by something before you shot them... there's usually plenty of lead flying around. Body shots are always a wound to a full-health player, believe me I know since I sort of specialise in kill assists

Definatley a head shot. But you have to remember, that even climbing some stairs while running can cause enough damage to where one shot anywhere from any sniper rifle will get you the one shot one kill.
Also remember to place your crosshairs about one pixel above the head and you will always get the kill, even if the enemy has full health. I always get the kills, but the better ping time does help out.

aim like 1 pixel above head or for the scalp (where the head should be) aim more above head if ur heaps far away.

Seeing as noone else wants to admit it, I'll post it here....

Bullet drop is ONLY significant if you're NOT above your target. That is to say, if you're on top of a building, and he's running around 100m away and 40 meters below you, the bullet drop is SIGNIFICANTLY less than if you were at the same relative "height" as your target. For this reason people who specialize in sniping needs to know that bullet drop varies not only with the RANGE to your target, but also the vertical orientation. When shooting at a sniper in the TV tower on Sharqi, you need to account for bulleptdrop WAY more tha he needs to when he's sniping back.
