OK I'm driving around in a tank on Karkand and suddenly it says I've killed so and so, then it says I killed a few more people. The problem is nobody is around at the time this happens and I'm not firing at anything. I know I'm not running anybody over either. One time I was driving a jeep by the Gatehouse near the MEC base and an APC was sitting up there capping the flag. I knew this because of the UAV. I jumped on the TOW nearby and waited for him to come down when suddenly it said I killed him with the TOW. I didn't fire and I couldn't even see the APC from my position. Just last game when I was playing on the MEC team again, the Factory was being capped by the US. I made my way back there and as I passed by the Warehouse I suddenly got 3 kills using the tank I was in. Problem was the 3 guys I killed were the ones capping the Factory, or at least I assume they were because when I showed up there, nobody was around, not even any of my teammates, the flag was slowly coming back to neutral from being raised as USMC, and there were a few kits lying on the ground as if a few people just died. It wasn't arty that killed them either. If it wasn't those who were capping the flag then I have no clue who else I would have killed as the USMC had no flags anywhere else on that part of the map. I assume this is a new problem with the game. Anyone else experience this? Anyone have any info on this problem?
were you recently a sniper or engineer in a former life with a few mines left laying about? They stay live and still credit you for a while after you die. I'd bet that's your phantom death ... as amusing as that sounds.

are you sure that there wasnt another person on that server with a name very similar to yours, and you just got confused?
its happened to me before. I've even been posted as being killed when in fact I was still shooting and trying to kill. This isn't a hack, just another glitch that EA is screwing over for 2142
Does it actually give you points? Or does it just say you killed so and so
It's happened to me occasionally, but it does not change my points. I've also had a "You were kill by so-and-so", but same thing, no points change, I keep living.
Try turning off ur hax b4 u play
It has nothing to do with Hacks or anything.. Like the first post said.. If you play as a Sniper or Engineer and place down Clays or AT mines and get into a vehichle and they go off while your in a vehicle, then sometimes it counts and shows up as a kill with the Vehicle your in.. happened to me many times
thats has done same to me before i would be standing there not moving and all of the sudden i would get a kill by a gun and a few times i would kill a guy and it would say a different guy did...so its a glitch...or atleast what happened to me
Yea I forgot about the AT Mines and Claymores. I have been Engineer quite a bit lately so that's probably where they came from. I actually realized this in my last game after I put mines down and drove off then I got a couple kills from those mines. I wasn't anywhere near anyone but I saw from a distance those mines go off and I got the kills. I don't know how I forgot about that. Haven't played as engineer in a very long time I guess. Anyway thanks for the replies.
Yep there's something wrong with the way it credits mine/claymore kills if you layed them, get killed, respawn and then they kill someone.
