No problem man, thanks for the help.  Well if that the simple answer, I want to know is it going to be a pain in the ass or cause any conflicts?

BTW, no offense, I know some people swear by certain companies, but I am thinking of making this one an nVidia machine, since I have yet to own there products but I was very impressed with some of my friends machines who have nVidia cards.

Well I put together a barbone rig on tiger direct lemme know what you think,
Barebone
OCZ EL Platinum Dual Channel 2048MB PC3200 DDR
Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic

Can't decide on a video card just yet, I got a G5 mouse on the order and a Saitek Eclipse backlit key board, a dvd/cd burner in 1.

With a monitor and all itll come to about $2500

the cards will work fine on nForce boards, you just will not be able to use dual ATI cards on an SLI motherboard.

i think some ppl did... all u need is the crossfire cable thing.

i would wait for conroe. if u must have a pc today heres what id do

get GFX card of choice (7900gtx)
get cheap intel cpu (805d)
get conroe ready mobo (p965 gigabyte 6 quad thing)
get 2 X1GB ddr2 800mhz ram from g.skill
get case (3d aurora)
Xfi soundcard
600watt enermax 600watt psu

meh thats what i would do anyways... dont get 939 since ddr wont give u any upgrade headroom

not true, you can run crossfire on nf4-sli based mobo

and for the list you made: i would not take a barebone, but take all the components seperately. Also the price for it is out of bounds.

completely agree.  there isn't any reason to get a laptop (except for mobile/business purposes etc), especially just to play games on.
etc etc etc.  Convince us you need a laptop ...

I built a system based on the asus p5nd32-sli board (nForce chipset Intel edition), top notch board.  Only board I know of with true dual x16.  I don't recommend win 64 with it, it caused nothing but BSODs.

as max said. that board should be on newegg soon, try zipzoomfly or sumthing else. i have a P5WDG2-WS its a 975X chipset and it supports conroe. i am sure of this since asus sent me a bios rev and a friend of mine who works at the tech shop called asus to confirm this. even a taiwanese tech mag even said it. and the good thing is it runs Crossfire, unlike the p965 chipsets which doesnt.

What do you guys think of this mobo?

And I'd like to be patient but I've been thinking about this for a month or 2 now, so I'm kinda getting anxious

That board you have looks pretty awesome, and since it supports up to 8gb of ram the skys the limit, one question about the gigabyte case, on new egg alot of the reviews are voicing concerns of limits of space, and that if the gfx card is long its not going to fit, is there any other cases to consider?

i have the case myself... i dont have any of those issues, some of the ppl on newegg are being dumbasses. when the cards long it will still fit... the longest cards ive seen only span across the mobo. so the case shouldnt have any problems.

Not sure if you meant this board, but here it is anyway - I've always been happy with ASUS, and this board tears anything up.

Yup - You need to keep these things cool (buy a small hovercraft and sit behind it!!)

I used to have an Alienware Area 51m (old style!) and these things heat up so much they start to crack the casing around the keyboard.....and the shitty Fujitsu-Siemens AmiloD 1845 I have at the moment is responsible for the global warming problem we have at the moment!

Stick with a pc and keep Greenpeace off your back!!!
