im thinkin about upgrading my ram because everytime i exit the gameit takes about 2-3 mins for it to stop laying bf2 music.
I have 1 gb of ram ddr2 533 mhz
and im wondering what did the 4 numbers mean again? like 2-2-2 -5
its been a year since i built comps and i forgot everything lol and is it ok to just throw 2 512 mb chips in the last 2 dimm slots?

1GB of RAM is more than enough for Battlefield 2 to unload without difficulty. You have some other problem. Are you using on-board sound?

Disable the music.  If its not old to you now, it will be.

Hmm. I've never experienced that problem, perhaps due to my running BF2 on a 10K Raptor and my Audigy 2. I never did say that it was a bad thing to have more ram, though.

2 gig ram makes a huge difference to this game if you're running with a less powerful processor... Work out the cheapest way to upgrade. Since I upgraded my ram, I've had zero problems and it takes less than a second to shutdown to the DT ... great ...oh, and just as an afterthought... When we all load into a new map, I'm usually one of the first to get going... mashtuur* city, I capture a flag before most have got to their vehicles, and I used to be one of those that would take forever to get going.

Or maybe user error or inproper configurations?   I have an AMD rig and no problems what so ever.
