I have an MX518 and I've always presumed that having it set to the top 1600dpi is the best.  However it means that I have to have the in game mouse setting at just 0.4 otherwise it's way too fast.  It got my thinking, what is more reliable, my mouse's native sensitivity or BF2's in game one?

I guess what I'm really asking is what is the difference between having,

(a)  Mouse set to 1600dpi and 0.4 in game sensitivity

.....and

(b) mouse at say 1000dpi and 2.0 in game sensitivity*

*Presuming it moves my POV at the same speed (would it be less accurate???)

....and what is the advantage of having 2000dpi over 1600dpi (Might get a G5).  I just don't see what reall difference dpi does apart from forces you to have really low in-game mouse sensitivity

Just change as you need it....ie 1600 in a tank /apc for spinning the turret 1000 for sniper for acurracy ...thats what I do....and I play at 1200 norm

Yeah but you don't need a mouse like ours to do that, you just change the sensitivity in game do you have a higher one for land vehicles and a lower one for infantry.  I'm just struggling to see why I paid for all this sensitivity with no real effect.  I naively thought that high res would move at the same speed just more accuratley but it just moves it faster.  I could have just turned up the in game setting for that.

Someone please explain, I need justifacation for my purchase.....

The justification is that we can change the settings as you play...so you can run around a infantry and see your mate get killed (sniper ) grab his kit...click the button change the resolution ..kill your target run to a tank jump in click to change resolution again....not having to stop and adjust settings ...just click the little buttons above and below the scroll wheel
