That damn "Play now!" button on the bottom right.  The code for it is shit.  I have little idea of what code the genii at EA/DICE chose to stick under that button, but it's essentially a "Crash Now" feature.  It runs off to hunt the internet for fuck-knows-what and the only way to get your PC back is to reset.

Now I understand that not everyone takes issue with this item, but its placement just happens to be under the "Disconnect" button.  So when you click disconnect to leave a server, an accidental double click, or even a secondary buffered click will disconnect you from a server then crash your damn PC.

That's just bad UI design.  And I know 'cos I used to do it for a living.

hahha yeah i sometimes click that by accident. its sooo bad. when it does work, it puts you in a random laggy-ass server.

King - You're thinking of the AUTO READY checkbox.  I also have no clue what that does, but I'm talking about the yellow "Play Now" button on the main screen once you've booted up BF2

I think Auto Ready makes you automatically join the game after a while if you don't click Join Game, Play online now is what the topic starter is talking about I think.

The auto-ready box, if checked, has you join the server if you dont click "join now" within a certain time-frame.

Yeah def.. I have only used it like once or twice, and it usually locks my comp. up, or takes me to a fkin empty server.  It sux ass.

I clicked it accidently a few times, and soon learned to regret it.
Every time it froze my pc, and alt f4 or ctrl alt del couldn't bring it back. The only way I could fix it was to reboot my pc.
