This is a two pronged Topic.

First the rant.

Last night playing on Ghost Town this ass was raping our SAS Uncap with the attack helo.
He was constantly coming over and destroying our armor/apc and the AA turret along with our transport Helo. So after about 5 runs I dropped arty on the helo pad at their uncap... I never drop arty on a full uncap base especially if that's the only base they have left. So i checked an there was no one in the area. The Arty hit and ended up not killing anyone, even the damn base raper in the helo getting repaired.

Immediately BANNED for dropping arty in the uncap without even a chance to explain myself.
So what I got was... It's totally cool to rape a base with a helo, but not a tank, apc, on foot, or with artillery. Even though I didn't even kill anyone.

So I was bored and read the BF2 manual about commanding. Guess what... It says try and use your artillery to take out your opponents artillery... HA!!!

First off it would take a few strikes to even do that to one of the guns and secondly you would get kicked out because most maps have arty at the uncap. So even though its in the manual 90% of the servers I play say "No arty in the uncap."

I guess I'll stick to SVA, Strategic Vehicle Arty.

If it's in the manual, do it.

Half these servers have stupid rules anyway, like no Tanks, or no Arty. Most of which probably break the T&C of having a BF2 server in the first place.

If I join a server, only to later find out it's Infiltry only, I'll do my damndest to APC those B*stards to high hell. Especially if I can find the Admin(s) on foot

Who's the guy with "Code, don't Roe it" in their signature. That would apply in this case. These server "rules" are BS if you ask me...

It also says that APCs can shoot through fences....they're about 10 patches old in the manual

i've thought about doing that!! unfortunately all the K&P servers updated to 1.3... and since i still only have 1.22.. i'm outa luck *tear*

but yeah, i'll bet the one in the Chopper was an Admin... so he probably didn't care that HE was baseraping...

Im with u dude, i think server rules are total crap. it's like, how dare someone make an admins stats less "1337" i say anything goes. on most servers the "rules" only apply to the other team. On road rage last week the admins team was totally pwning mine. they had aa vehicles on our runway and tanks in our uncap. i just laughed as the rules scrolled across the top "no uncap raping" still i didn't say anything, just kept playing and my team managed to get ahead and soon owned the map and my team was raping their uncap. Now everyone is bitchin about spawn rape and admins are banning people left n right. funny how things work when the tables turn. i didn't even finish that game, it was too pathetic.

Yeah, I was on a server last night which had only one rule: Stay out of uncap bases.  The current map was Karkand, meaning that the US could bumrush the MEC base but how the hell is the MEC supposed to take out the UAV and Radar at the uncappable US base?  I said fuck it, snuck in and blew UAV and Radar anyway.  Of course I was instantly kicked for it.  Fine. Whatever.  I went back in an asked an admin to please ban me so I would not accidentally end up playing there again ;P

Sure hope he followed through for me......

As for servers with stupid rules:

Almost all servers have rules like "no baseraping uncaps" or "no swearing." IT'S A FUCKING WAR GAME! PEOPLE ATTACK OTHER PEOPLES BASES IN WAR TO KILL THEM. Fuck I hate pubs!
