My clan runs a 44 player 24/7 karkand (though it's like karkand 90%) and most of the time we all just play on whatever side we load into.
We have a few regulars that aren't in the clan but are always in the server. Well one of them started complaining the other day about us team stacking. Our players aren't that good, just average players that can easily be beaten by a team with a few great squads, or another clan, that work work together on it. However we use Ventrillo and teamwork when playing together. We use different channels on Ventrillo for the MEC and USMC teams, so it still stays private when we're on different sides.
The other day there's 8 of us on, 5 on the USMC, 3 on MEC. Round ends with the USMC winning like expected, but the 3 of us on MEC (myself included) stay on the MEC, so all 8 of us are on there the next round because it's just more fun and enjoyable when everyone's working together. However, this was one of the few times I've been called out on switching to the MEC side lol
Of course Karkand is typically full of lower ranks with a few exceptions so teamwork should win a round. And it does when we all play together. I typically take command if I feel I have the right guys to do the job on MEC. If I don't, I'll take it then resign so another clan member can have it. Any guys that get around the hotel are watched and eventually taken out. It helps to have guys in the clan who don't care about points, just about winning. So one guy sits up in the TOW at the suburb, while i have the gatehouse tow, and everyone else is AT up at the hotel. Needless to say their armor never makes it past their front spawn points and the couple humvee's that get past are taken care of.
We win as MEC because the USMC never got a flag, went on USMC and capped all the flags, repeated this process for 3 turns (6 rounds), before the server did it's thing and loaded karkand again, during this time you could see the leaderboard and all 7/8 of us were in the top 10. When we all come back some guy immediately says something along the lines of team stacking unfairly. A clan mate responds with "it's nothing more than teamwork, use a mic" I then thought about how annoyed I would be if I was on their side heh. Some guy last week said the only way to win was to be on our team, read: most of the guys in the clan are NOT great players.
So what's the general consensus? Stay on the same side, even it up, or switch teams every so often. After a few rounds of that a few of us will switch to the other team to even things up again. We're playing in OUR server, i'm pretty sure it's to be expected we'll be on the same side. However, we went into the CROW 24/7 Wake Island server and had every member who was there banned after owning it up as USMC somehow. Why do people not realize that a half dozen guys from the same clan/group/friends on one side will have a significant impact?
