I was just wondering what is the most important setting to have up when you are sniping. i can only put one thing to medium with out getting lag so i was wondering, what is the one thing i can put to medium to help me with sniping. Then i was wondering is there a thing where you can have more then 2 claymores. Like you lay 2 down then you go get 2 more, and lay them down, but if you do that will the other 2 go away.

Most regards

obviously you first put view distance to 100% Then I thought geometries was the second important thing for snipers to see further but someone should confirm this.

Oh and since patch 1.22 you can only place 2 claymores anymore. You can resupply by standing (pretty long) next to a supply crate or run over an ammo bag to get 2 instantly. But if you place one of these, on of the old ones will disappear again. So max 2 active at a time.

Sorry if this is resurrecting a lsightly older post, but I'm in the exact same position with the exception that I'm running an ATI Radeon 9550 256Mb.

I just want to bring this topic to the fore as I was playing on Sharqi with my mate last night, and he could see people on the top of the TV station from the construction site crane, but I couldn't

A little help in confirming that the order of importance is:

View Distance --> Geometries --> Terrain --> Lighting

Cheers,

Doc

sorry i seem to have stumbled into a team geek thread.

Play engineer, get the ass of a tank in your face, you cant miss seeing that.
(go for the side, or your a teamkill pancake)

RLY though, even if you cant see the detail, you need to be able to hit them before they can hit you, so go for distance.  I cant offer any tech help with the settings, but they seem to be talking sense up there ^^ , so give it a go.  Best of luck.

Hiya, in case you didn't catch all of it while we were practicing that time I think that having geometry up to medium is a definite help as compared to low it makes it a bit easier to pick out small targets (like someone prone behind the railings on a crane).

My settings in full are 1024 x 768 x 60 at:
Medium
Low
Medium
Low
Low
Off
Medium
Off
Low

Beyond this I believe that some graphics cards can just draw things at longer distances (more bang for the buck) that others can't, so for the same settings one of two people may be able to see further... an additional 100m or more.

You can have more than two claymores on the ground at one time for brief periods; like if you die and respawn the two you placed on the previous life will persist for a short time. You see this a lot if you're replacing both in favourite positions at any flag.

Occasionally you'll get three kills if a flag you were defending is capped and you have to spawn elsewhere where you place two fresh ones, the old claymores can be around long enough to catch someone heading out from their new spawn spot... often the message will be Your_Name [Killed] Unlucky_Dude... and then you get guys with your current clays.
