This just started happening about a week ago. I used to be able to play the game straight for hours, now after about an hour the ground disappears and I get 15 FPS. The game becomes unplayable, and sometimes just freezes up completely. Any body else get this, or any one have any ideas what to do?

Specs:
AMD 64 3200+
geforce 6800 128 mb
1 GB RAM

Settings high/medium. ( I have tryed turning down the settings....doesn't fix the problem.)


*offtopic: Any one know what this "Cost" stat is? Its on the bottom of the BF2s page above the medals.

Ohhhh, ouch. I would check to make sure the fan on your card is functioning properly and make sure it is clear of dust. I would also make sure you have the latest drivers.

make sure if video card is overclocked that it isnt overheating also, i have 6800gt and have had major probs with latest driver and had to go back to 77.77.

I got the 81.85 nvidia drivers, but this problem happend on teh old drivers I had, 71.something. When i check the Temps right after this happens they seem normal. Ill check then on riva turner more closely. I am not overclocking.

yo i got the same thing like black things in the water and on karkand somethimes this halo light brown color comes to the ground to the sky

Riva tuner reports the fan runnign at 50% all time....That may have been teh problem. I told it to run the fan 100% in 3d apps, haven't had time to test it.

Heat problem with video card.
