people who got theere badge after 1.3 are lucky
some of us people did it the right way without complaining

when you get your stats rated by some ppl, many of them will say that you have not enough awards and that you suck at something because you dont have the award for this thingG3157 wrote:
Pretty much every reward this game's stat system has to offer is a time stamp. It just used to require more time. I can't say I ever felt that people who have more ranks or rewards than most people deserved my respect.-=raska=- wrote:

You are absolutely correct. But certain awards can point out a brilliant player, in conjunction with other stats. eg. If a player has a score per minute of above 3......and has the Sharpshooter Infantry Medal......that shows a great player. Means he can play well with every kit, and has played well, because he has played over 100 ours of sniper, and anti-tank, and spec ops, and maintained a high SPM. These are not high scoring kits, but he scores high regardless. Some people play nothing but medic, and struggle to keep a 2.5 SPM-=raska=- wrote:

in another thread, ppl were saying that awards could really show the player's skills... They thought that SPM didnt reflect well the player's skills because of the "Medic whoring on karkand".. neither KDR because of plane whoring... I dont say I agree with them, but its only to tell you that lots of ppl rate a player according to his awards.

Or K\P padders.aardfrith wrote:
That's the whole point. "Most people" shouldn't be getting an "expert" badge. Experts should be an elite minority rather than the whole thronging mass of the the population.DSRTurtle wrote:
I've got 99 knife kills now.
I thought the 18 kills in a round was high for both knife and pistol. 15 would be more reasonable for most people.
yeah I agree, they should have not lower the IAR requirements for badges, but they did right about the time requirement, which shows nothing about skills. If you want to rate a player about his vehicles skills, look at his ratios.jjrp02 wrote:
I thought the 18 IAR was a bit much, but I got it....
same with pistol, IMO pistol was harder than knife because knife is instant kill, pistol is not (most of the time)
the ONLY knock I had on awards was the rediculous time reqs. 400 hours in each major vehicle, 150 in transport, etc was ludacris.
I like how they reduced time reqs on vehicle badges/medals (except AA and GD) but not so much the knife/pistol
yeah but now it doesnt mean anythingCrazeD wrote:
I don't really care what they change it to, because I got mine the hard way.
Vehicle ratios often come from spawn camping, which takes less skill than a k/p server. I know a tank or apc is going to eat my teammates when I'm in a similar vehicle so when I hear the cry "enemy tank spotted", that's where my armour is going to be.-=raska=- wrote:

I wasn't referring negetively to your post.... I was adding the fact people used to have to resort to that? I still have my basic knife and I don't have the patience to care (not sure if I want Vet?), congrats on your badges though.DSRTurtle wrote:
Ballistic, did you bother to read all of my posts?
I got my 100th Knife Kill last night. It sucks that i'm going to get expert for just a 100 knife kills. I agree with most people complaining about the award being too easy now. If you can't get 7 knife kills in a round you really don't know how to use the knife.
If you have to play in k/p server then you are a really sad person and even worse than whose who you can't get 7 knife kills in a round on Karkand.
BTW I'm prouder of getting my Basic Knife badge on Ghost Town then my Vet Knife Badge on Karkand.

or mabye you should become proficient enough with a knife to get 18 in a round, like alot of us did
1. As if, People go to K/P servers for alot of other reasons then to get a badge. Did any of them stop operating after 1.3?G3157 wrote:
The 18 IAR rule was silly for people who play on fair servers, and promoted KPO servers for people to obtain these badges.
1. It helps cut down on Knife/Pistol only servers.
2. Most importantly, It prevents people from ruining a round of a game for their team because they're "Going for their Knife badge". Spam dying while you try for knife kills doesn't help your team in the least... and should you not get the 18 kills, you get to ruin another round of play trying to get it. On a 16 player server one person acting like a dumbass can ruin the game for his team.
So instead of people going out and sitting on KPO servers, doing knife-kill-revive, or ruining games... you get the 100 knife kills naturally over time as you play.

I didn't think you were. I was asking because others have been quoting me and incorrectly assuming that I like the changes. I wish that had reduced the in a round requirements rather than eliminate them all together. Similar to the Explosives Badges.BallisticallyYours wrote:

I think that would work. Does sound a little cheesy (dropping the IAR requirements alltogether), its like waiting till 16 to get your license and you get there and they lower the age to 15 or something.DSRTurtle wrote:

Or the other way like for the drinking age when they raised it from 18 to 21 as happened to me.BallisticallyYours wrote:

I thought the change was pretty strange as well. On the other hand, I cannot find a server full but slow enough to allow me to get 18 kills in 8 minutes. 15 kills was the best I could manage - FIVE TIMES!RD_The_Dog wrote:
18 kills with a knife IAR is too hard? Its not called "EXPERT" for nothing. I think the change for expert is ridiculous. EXPERT knifers do not find it difficult to get 18 knife kills IAR. That is what makes (made) expert knife badge holders expert.
Now days, expert knife is a complete joke.
