I understood what he meant completely. My problem with his statement is that of course soldiers are going to die, they are sent into a battlefield well knowing the risks. Hell, they even volunteered for it. But did an Iraqi civilian? Let alone in his own home? No. So why should he die, against his will, to save the life of the man who volunteered to be there?

On top of all that. How many civilians need to die to protect these volunteers before it becomes wrong? Haditha was 24. Is it 25 then? 50? All of them? That last one seems to be the answer in the "fuck em" part of his statement.

I agree the marines should get due treatment, for I do not believe they just murdered civilans in cold blood. My arguement originally had to do with the tactics used that led to the deaths of the civilians.

You say they should say something before the Frags go in. Are they told this ahead of time or is it assumed that they should know this since its been happening across the country for 3 years. How much time do they get? Are there enough interpreters within earshot to translate "There are no enemies in here"? These are honest questions I ask, since I have not seen it first hand.

Considering that childeren are used to fight against troops, they have walked up to Coalition troops with explosives around them and have had the bombs set off but someother guy with a cellphone or something like that. I could go find these stories but Im to lazy and anyways you would deny that they are true probably, just like the Iranians deny that he Holocost ever happened.

See, I dont have a problem with the Marines (provided accusations arent true), they are just following orders. Combat reflexs that have been drilled into them. However, I cannot accept that what happened can simply be shrugged off and labeled "a clean call". Because if it can happen here, it can happen at every house and every buidling in Iraq. Again, where is the line drawn before its labeled a 'a bad call'? Clearing house to house, agreed, is the best course of action. But if all that happens is "spray and pray from corner to corner", then there wont be any reason to keep the buildings from being blown up as there will be nobody left to occupy them.

I see Gunslingers comment like this: There is a minefield that civilians need to cross, so a group of men volunteer to walk across it in order to set off the mines. There is chance they may not hit any of them, but its almost certain death if they go in. The first man triggers a mine and he is killed. The rest of the group first yell "Fuck you, you mine, why did you kill him, oh God why did he have to die." And in order to keep them from being killed, they proceed to toss the civilians into the mine field to trigger the rest of the mines because "[they] could give a fuck a less about ANY [of them]...if it meant one of my buddies wasnt coming home".

I hope that makes sense, its 2:30am here and thats the best I could come up with.
