Here's a small suggestion....
If you are a 1rst-Sgt, you could show... there is 1000 of 400 000 people/account who has the same rank as you.
If you have 15 000 points... there is 20 000 of 400 000 people who are between 15 000 and 20 000 points.
This way you don't have to recalculate the exact positionning of everyone but still give an approximate position/rank. And a simple count doesn't require as much processiing power as finding the exact rank.
And it also give us how many people are here
