Personally I enjoy servers containing city maps, such as Strike at Karkand, Sharqi Peninsula and Mashtuur city. (I'm a ground pounder) 32 player mode mostly

I think two or three rounds per map is sufficient.

VOIP is always nice; I use it but most of the people I know don't.

I always recommend keeping friendly fire on simply because of the numerous buildings one can reach with C4 if friendly fire is off.

Keep TK punish on (not auto-punish) and I think every server should have a "punish limit" of three, so therefore if you are punished three times you are auto-kicked / banned the second time around.

A good rotation which is very popular today is a wake surprise or karkand surprise and make maps like this

VOIP is a MUST to have a good server, also you shall I have the TK thing like player says above me, and also have it 2 rounds per map.

map rotation, every SF map (including night maps FFS). If you dont want SF (and i have no idea why you wouldntnt) have every map in vanilla (non of this Karkand every second map BS, its already over played).

3 rounds of each map.
Auto balance off. <--- allows people to join a team with a friend etc.
voip is a must.
no auto punish, but 4 punishs = kick
FF on and FF on for mines claymores too <--- stops clay mine whoring. (I believe FF off is against the ROE).
server rules:
"no TK'ing for vecihiles" <--- be very harsh on this one, kick after first offence.
"no attacking uncap in vecihile" <--- doesnt mean cant steal, just that they cant sit in an uncap and kill people as they spawn, or flyby and bomb grownded planes. Warn people before kicking/banning.

Automatic kicking for negative score below maybe -10.
Autobalance.
Auto team switch between rounds.
Language filters to kick after one (?) warning but not for silly stuff like "noob".

-Definetly want VOIP

-Allow friendly fire, make BF2CC handle the punishes, make it 4 punishes kick 8 punishes ban, put the Forgive and Punish Announcement option on

-Don't let commanders fly, don't allow vehicle drop abuse (on arty, on vehicles, etc), and don't be a nazi admin

-Turn off friendly fire for mines/claymores

-Turn off Autobalance and turn on Smart Balance, make the threshold 2

FF should be on, but turn off FF for claymores and mines. Too many dipshit tank drivers don't take notice of the little red skull. Ditto for dipshit infantry who think that little symbol at the top of a ladder is really a pot of gold! I really like Wake, but also Mashtuur and Karkand. I agree that Karkand is overplayed. I guess you need to work out a balance between maps that are good for tank whores, maps that are good for air whores and maps that are good for everyone else. And yes, rotation after 3 or 4 rounds. Not 2 - I find that it takes me the first round to really get warmed up.

VOIP definitely. No autopunish - players do that automatically anyway. Which is why I think the punish feature should not kick until more than five punishes. Definitely kick for a negative score (-5 perhaps).
