AMD. The ATI Radeon 9800 is shitty for BF2. Trust me, i have a 9700. With any luck you'll be able to have 2-3 mediums on 32 player servers.

i have an athlon 64 x2, 4gb ddr400 ram, and an x850xt

and i can run every setting maxed out smooth as silk

but i have to run the game on just one core or it goes all weird

bf2 aint compatable with dual core, just need to set affinity.

Well it would prolly be AMD since they are focused on 1 task at time....pentium and such are multi task computer...so ill go for AMD...and i plan to buy myself an fx...67..70 prolly when ill have money for...going torun crysis on the max!

I have an Athlon64, 1gb ddr400 ram, and the same x850xt

and I can still run the game maxed out and smooth as silk, as you put it.

It's all in the graphics card and RAM. I do need more ram though.

AMD. its all i've used and don't plan on changing to intel untill AMD fails meh.

AMD 64, Asus Mobo, XFX 7800 GT, 2 GiG Corsair ram, max settings not a problem and my temps don't get toooo crazy after a 6 hour bf2 session... but thats the case and fans..

Definitely the AMD. A quick check of some benchmarks show it performing very well, against faster Intel cpus than the Intel you mention.

I recommand AMD because it is better for gaming. I would change the video card and the processor on the computer you showed us.

Oh yeah and if you want to buy a new computer, I don't recommand buying it at futureshop. I don't know if it was what you wanted to do because they're expensives.
