I have no preference for LMGs, they all have their benefits and drawbacks.
The M249's rate of fire is 900, and with a damage of 25 it actually does a little more damage than the PKM (450/45) if you land all your shots. Its 200rd box makes it the best for laying down sustained bursts of suppressing fire without having to take time out to reload.
I guess my overall favourite is the RPK-74, IMO it offers the best balance of ammo, accuracy, ROF and damage per shot. 130rds, as accurate as the others, 600 ROF and 35 damage

PKM ftw.
i prefere the pkm although it fires slower so thats a bit of a downer. sounds far more manly though lol

MG36 all the way.
MG36>SAW>RPK
No other support weapons compare.

cleaning up after people's a bitch...
Is it true that the MG36 is more accurate than the PKM?
hmm this is a hard one but i'll have to go with MG36
RPK ftw
mg36.

M249 > RPK > MG36
PKM rocks when you defend flags , personally I don't like to attack with it .

No way the M249 is better then the RPK.
You've got 12 hours using support guns - don't go saying what is and isn't better when you haven't properly experienced them.
the m249 is a beast, I love it. Mowing down infantry at close range with that thing is great. I prefer the mg36 to the rpk (think it's cooler ) and I've never liked the PKM one bit.

Do you grasp the concept of time? Do you not know what 12 hours is?SargeV1.4 wrote:

Some people are fast learners, and if you think I haven't used ever support gun in every possible situation you ought to start thinking. Also, leave karkand if you want a better grasp of all the different guns. I'm sure you know after all your time wasted in the halls, but youd learn much quicker if you used it on something like Dragon Valley. Maybe FuShe pass, but it's more armor oriented.
The m249 is great in close range, but it's as accurate as shit longer range. Always has been, but 1.2 helped a bit.
The RPK is great both close and medium ranges. The MG36 isn't as accurate as the RPK, but with practice it can be used just as well.
The PKM is much more accurate then the others but not as much as 1.2.
(I'm waiting for some idiot to say that in the configs they have the same deviation.... please someone)
I base it overall after using every gun plenty enough to know what they're like:
RPK > PKM > MG36 > Type 95 > M249.
Now please, go outside and stop thinking small.
Are you fucking kidding me Defiance? 500 out of the 619 hours that I have played this game have NOT been on Karkand. Seems like I'm not the only person who has trouble with time
Let's see. 12 hours. Five support guns. That's 2 hours 24 minutes each. That is not experience. Don't you go f*cking telling me otherwise, you cannot get to know a gun in such a short time, no matter how much of a fast learner you claim to be.
So what on earth are you talking about when you say 'with practice'? I've played over a hundred hours as support and I have used every gun for a long time. That's practice. Not a quick spin with every gun to see what they're like
So why don't you stop thinking so small for a sec: you are NOT experienced, and you CANNOT judge guns on so little time spent.

SAW is good a long range too, ones you know how to shoot with it at long rangeDefiance wrote:

Comparatively to you, no I am not experienced.
But 2 and a half hours using one weapon on a city map is plenty enough time to get a good idea of it compared to the other weapons.
No, you may not be a master with it in such time, but you will learn which gun is better then the other.
That is the point you are missing. because you're thinknig quantitatively instead of qualitatively. They are rarely proportionate and especially not now.

That would make it worse accuracy wise, but ok. Under the same situations, the RPK, PKM, and MG36 still are superior. The Type 95 is even.^*AlphA*^ wrote:

I'm trying to think where sarge is, or if he gave up by calling me a dumbass noob in a neg karma note...
Well so be it, good game.

i am utter pish with all the support weapons.

unless the guy is standing still right infront of me.
