Linux, Windows, OS2 whatever, everything works better if you know what you are doing.
4 days to clean a machine of malware and other exhibits of psychotic programming? reinstalling windows would be faster and you would have a fresh install (unless you didn't back things up and have to download the internet to get all the drivers and shiny little applets - I hate it when that happens). Windows is like a car, if you dont keep fresh oil in the engine it will burn out especially when you drive too fast.

i dont like microsofts work ethics in the past. However XP is pretty good but i would use linux if i could run games on it without all that crap that goes on

I love Windows! Not much of a techie since I've never really used Linux at all... only knew it existed back in 2000 when I saw this penguin icon next to some Counterstrike beta server back in the day and wondered "What the hell is that?" but anyway, Windows has been the only OS I've been able to work with since Windows 3.0 back in the days of using a 386processor computer.
Probably the only thing I have against it is the killswitch thing... Means I won't be able to keep up with some of the things I love so much, that sucks.

The onlu reason i dislike microsoft, is the same reason i hate EA, because they enjoying taking major shortcuts in production, com windows xp suck donkey testies until service pack 2. They are behind and now just finally trying to even the score with OSX, Windows Vista was the answer to that and when that is released and working, i will probably begin to like microsoft again.
When you are the wealthiest company on the planet in Computer industry then you must not take short cuts just to pull major profit.
Linux is used by the haxor, lol, that is why there are way less viruses on a linux device, and even less of mac! It is an attack by people who feel as though microsft has no right to charge as much as they do, and they don't, where else do you think they would have enough money to lose 75$ on each Xbox 360 sold!
All in all, i think Mr. Gates is the man, and i have a alot of respect for him as a person, but his company has been crap, but with the use of the beta testers and Windows Vista i hope all this will change, i use vista daily and enjoy it, it looks nice. But it will all depend once again on compatability!

Microsoft is obviously the bigest target for everyone to attack. If any other OS had to deal with what they do everyday they would go down in flames. Just my opinion.
