i love killing a sniper, picking up his kit a laying down the clays. then we he comes back he gets killed by them, lmao! seriously though as soon as you couldn't disable a clay with a nade it became the gayest weapon in the game due to the  guys who spawn and instantly press f4.
This is an excellent point by spectregunship.  If you kill a sniper, why not pick up the kit for a second, place some claymores, and then reacquire your original kit?  I do this all the time if I'm not in the middle of a firefight.

And I also agree with the thought that a grenade should disable a claymore.

As for those that dislike the aggressive claymore tactics... get over it.  I don't know of any better way to get vet or expert explosives (although I have yet to get 30 kills for the expert) than claymores.  Forget about AT Mines... you'll be very lucky to get even 10 kills with those in a round.  C4 is a tough way to go too unless you're going to fling c4 down on spawn points at karkand from the roof.  And frankly, skill or no skill... we're playing to win and for points, right?  So plop down the claymore.

One other note on claymores.  Occasionally, you will get kill messages that don't register as claymores.  This will look like MoChief [killed] xxxnoob    as opposed to MoChief [Claymore] xxxnoob.  I'm not sure exactly why this is other than perhaps the initial claymore blast didn't quite kill them but their impact against wall or ground finally does.  Keep in mind that if it doesn't say [claymore], it doesn't count as an explosive kill for 'in a round'  explosives badges.

Speaking of 'whoring'... I have a few other 'long' posts that I've put up:

y should clays be destructable by grenades, I normally hide mine where they won't be seen unless ur on top of them anyway. It would just lead to people spamming grenades around every corner, up every ladder and into every doorway.

One important area I forgot to mention for claymores...

If you're sniper and you are capping the flag... then for crissakes, place claymores around the entry points that a spawning enemy would come in to capture it back.  And then go prone so they have to come looking for you.  Usually I'll either pull out the pistol or grenade when in this position because a long range sniper rifle is the LAST thing you'll need in this situation.

Good post, nothing wrong with playing the game how you want to.

The problem with claymores is that
1) they do NO damage to friendlies

2) They do not have to be detonated or take any skill whatsoever to use

Its just another skill-less tool that EA added to appease all the whiners.
they DO do damage to friendlies, I get like u killed 1 guy and TK'ed 2 with a Claymore o.O

Claymores are pretty cool when you're the one getting the kills! Not so much so when you get killed by one

I still don't have basic explosive badge, I guess I better start whoreing them baby's!

Nice guide, not that I didn't know already that claymores are snipers best friend. And from most peoples attitudes towards snipers their only friend. But still a tool to be put top use is good. Nice guide.
