Listening to the song Fix by static X and browsing the bf2 forums made me think why havent they fixed bf2?

With the 1.2 patch, it caused loads of server issuses and they relesed a patch a week later or something (correct me if I'm wrong please) and all was dandy again.

Now with 1.3, they release a patch that causes constant CTD's and server crashes and its been a month, we heard from EA a few weeks ago saying they're releasing a BETA patch at the END OF JULY. To me, that is pathetic. We all paid good money for this game, I (and i assume you to) demand a product that works how it should.

All I'd want is a hotfix to fix these two errors (and possibly the karkand wall glitch - seriously how hard is it to edit a bit of code?) because theyre annoying.

The other day my friend P-Murda was getting a new kill streak and nearly had 90 kills only for the server to crash. Yesterday, I had 12 server crashes, losing a lot of points. EA say "this is a trying time" youre damn right its a trying time because everyone is getting very pissed off that their game is broken and EA are taking ages to fix it.

The only good feature they added in 1.3 is the kit remembering thing. All the others were useless, when I need a vehicle I request one but dont get it cause noob commanders are constantly drop cars on enemy arty and players who arent moving so I never get a car.

Just give me a fix please. I just need a fix.

Good song there but on to topic, EA's multitasking most likely, they've got all sorts of projects and deals working out, ideas as well, it's not just BF2 they're working on, they have a bunch of other things going on and will keep on going on as well... they probably don't have enough people to manage it all so they take turns on each turn and keep going from there, probably alternating those jobs inbetween so the people don't burn out, or are taking their sweet, SWEET time doing it because it feels as though it's 'refining' the product/project.

As for the fix, they're also trying to fix other things in their market, possibly things like The Sims 2 and their branch of expansions coming out. Battle for Middle Earth 2 which is constantly being tweaked just like BF2, if not more so, their new games coming out such as BF2142, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Working title I've heard) and probably so many other things we haven't heard from.

I don't think it's that they don't want to make a fix, or that they're not making time for it, it's just that they don't. Consider EA like the Lisa Frank of the gaming industry. Maybe that might help.

not a day goes by that my game doesn't freeze or kick me back to desk top if they fix that I forgive them for the karkand hotel glitch for I have never been bothered by it

Well I'm not really annoyed by it, I still enjoy BF2 regardless but it does get a bit annoying when I'm having a good time taking out people then the server crashes... but not really adamant about it either, not really a hostile guy.

I have insider info that EA are all fucking queers! so pretty much they are too busy  anally raping eachother to recode a piece of crap. if a bucnh of 15 year olds can completely re mod the game in a couple of months n make a glitch free game Ea cud do it in a fraciton of the time but they are just lazy fags!

It's not in their best immediate financial interest to continue investing manpower in support BF2, so therefore they're going to downsize their BF2 force and be less ambitious with addressing issues/adding new features/getting patches out quickly. They know that our desire to play games > our unhappiness regarding BF2 so they feel like it's not so much of an issue that ppl are a bit pissed off about BF2's current status. I agree it's a bit screwed up but you can play the game (for a while, anyway) anything else is really "bonus"

Spawn has got it, and I think EA and Dice are trying to tip toe through alot of this. While some of it is extremely obvious, other things are not. Dice removed squad hopping because they thought it was right and a portion of the community agreed. Well, the rest of us didn't see it that way.

What I'm hoping is that the 1.4 patch redeems dice because they (i hope) are going to think through every step they take, beta test it to all hell (thanks to the open beta! ) and then release it.

Things can get worse, but they also can get better.

I've taken a break (not a complete stop, i play every once in a while on a decent server) from BF2 during 1.22 and 1.3, but I'll be back on and fraggin once 1.4 is out.

Keep your fingers crossed comrades.

Thanks for naming all of the stuff EA is working on.  DICE works on all of the code.  It is probally because they are testing the patches, re-writing the code, testing again, the repeating the process.  Also, if they change on line of code, it may effect the entire game.  So they have to go through the entire code (over millions of code) and make for sure everything is legit.

In my Runescape days, Jagex had a hard time keeping up with the massive amounts of bugs and glitches going on in their game.  Lots of people complained, and they just kept badgering them for an update.

But do you know EXACTLY how to fix it?

I mean, where is the justification in shouting at them to fix the game they provided, when you dont know how to do it?  Can you personally go to EA and walk up to one of their computers and fix the bug in the Karkand wall glitch?  Can you pinpoint the exact problem behind random server crashes to desktop?

Personally I dont complain to EA.  Sure we paid 50 bucks for their game, and we kind of deserve a fast response.  But when 1.3 came out, it fixed 1.22's problems, but created more.  Demand was so great that I really dont think they had time to find every single thing wrong with the patch.  I mean how the HELL were they supposed to know about the Kark glitch?  Its not something you would have thought about until you saw it.  For our 50 bucks, we got a game.  We play that game and obviously if you dont want to play it, you dont have to.

Just let it be people.  They'll fix it and if they dont then Im still gonna play.  Fags on Karkand?  Go play Sharqi.
