Ok, specs are as follows:

CPU: amd athlon 3700+ sandiego.
Ram: 2gb Dualchannel ocz 3338
Video: dual 7800's sli
mobo: Asus a8n-32 sli

those are the heart and brains. the issue lays in my lcd, the viewsonic VX922. It plays well with ALL other games i play except bf2.

Ive done all the things I can think of, Including re-installs and than the things everyone else has thought of, including removing the old folder and changing the video config in my docs.

It used to play without a hitch on my crt and even when i plug it back in it works fine. At first it wouldnt work in the lcd but after i changed with the battlefield 2 folder in my documents, it will start. Playing the friggen thing is next to impossible as it lags beyond measure.

As i said the lcd is the vx922, the 2ms response should be sufficient and ive seen one in action, it CAN handle the game.

any ideas as to how i can make her run this game better? TYVM.

try to force a spacific resolution

For Battlefield 2: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx [h] +szy [v]

For Special Forces: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/xpack +ignoreAsserts 1 +szx [h] +szy [v]
*
In these tags, [h] is the horizontal measurement and [v] is the vertical measurement. If you wanted to run Special Forces in 1920 x 1200, your Target line would look like this:

Press Apply, then OK.

Adding these tags to the end of the target line will tell Battlefield 2 what resolution to start in. Remember, each tag in a target line must be separated by a space and must occur after the second quotation mark (").

Note: You must use this modified shortcut to start the game or your modified resolution will not be triggered.

Yea, just finished with forcing. All it does now is go black a moment as if it were about to load like normal, than it crashes. ty though

i can get in and play and all that but everything is soooooo sluggish. i'd know if it was ghosting.. its not. it does crash though after about 1 minute of gameplay... its gay... i plug my crt and without changing anything it works amazing. :-D i even wonder why i bought an lcd.... its sweet but arg i love bf2 lol

when ur on the video options screen in bfhq what hertz is the refresh rate your chooseing. U should choose between 60-75 hertz for a lcd. the higher ones are for crt.

60hz. I couldnt load the game at all unless it was 60 or 75. ANY other sugesstions?

So do you reckon I'll be able to force BF2 into widescreen format? Can't remember what it is off the top of my head (at work at mo) something x 900...

XP SP2 is fine with it, is BF2?

The VX922 has a native res of 1280x1024. I'd first suggest running BF2 at that resolution. But I don't believe you've actually described the problem anywhere. What exactly happens when you try to run BF2?
