When I'm in attack chopper, I notice some little fire coming at me and I easily spot it, then I figure out it's support shooting me. What's the point with that? They want to get killed? Because when shooting enemy chopper you could aswell put some big flashing neonlight sign "I'm over here kill me!" (Click my MC Hammer...)

- Why supports shoot attack choppers?
I do it but in a bush or under cover.
because the PKM does serious damage to your chopper.
even the other support guns can take down helicopters, i remember during the demo i took out a blackhawk with the minimi.

Supports actually do some damage to a chopper. I shoot choppers when they are on fire and I know I'd get the kills.Hacial wrote:

Create a local LAN server, play as support, shoot the empty chopper, find out that you do nearly no damage and afterwards decide if you continue shooting a full health chopper and give him those 2 points.Coolbeano wrote:

have definitely taken down one or two choppers with normal rifles........
I understand it when it's smoking but... Why do they shoot when they see that I just came from direction where airfield is? (Obviously full health because it came from getting repairs at airfield)
Because they want to. I shot an Attack Heli with an M-95 once on Wake while it was on fire and got two kills
I don't get it either lol... someone in my clan does this over and over, and only gets the kills when the heli crashes or something. When I get shot by support I sit in front of them for a few seconds letting them shoot my heli, then squash them.
It does very little damage at a time, and repairs are an option so basically it's a waste of time... for the support guy.

Yes, because m95 does 2 bars damage, support guys ftw, easy kills
* off topic what does FTW mean?*
Yeah, ive shot down a Black Hawk with a PKM before im sure many other people have.

ftw: for the win
Being infantry, I only shoot at choppers if I have the M-95 and good cover, if I have an SRAW/Eryx and a good chance to hit it or if it's smoking or burning. If number 3 is the case, I ALWAYS shoot, even if I only have a 9mm...
Same reason people in boats shoot you with that loser ass m249, they want death
PKM wrecks choppers. i once had half my sqaud as PKM and we laid waste to the chopper!
If the chopper's anywhere near smoking point it's worth shooting at it because you can often get two kills
M95 chopper pwnage FTW!!!

No derr... cause last hit on a flaming vehicle gives you the kills, even 1 pistol bullet woulda been enuff. (im not sure if this is the same for armour as i believe normal weapons do 0 damage to armour)BlaZin'Feenix wrote:

hah yes, or the full blackhawks with all medics in it, start to shoot at u with their guns and miniguns, priceless, certain death for themPRiMACORD wrote:

You know, it really doesn't do that much damage. I can't remember the last time i was actually killed by PKM fire, think it's only happened once or twice. I suppose if the pilot you're shooting sucks then fine go ahead why not. Otherwise i wouldn't, it only helps them find you real fast.S1lent-Stryke wrote:

M95's in the cockpit work pretty good + it's a lot more stealthy then that PKM constantly pointing out exactly which direction you're firing from. If i'm busy i won't bother finding a guy shooting me with the M95 but with PKM's it's just too easy.
rofl those are the best. Especially when you're not even aware of the blackhawk until there useless girly man guns let you know where to go to get a quick 5 killselmo1337 wrote:

Oh man, you guys saying to shoot the chopper even when it isn't smoking obviously haven't flown before. It does negligable damage, maybe three bars before I see you and take you out. I especially love it in AF, for some reason people think that since I'm in the Little Bird I take damage from everything, so they shoot at me with AT rounds assault rifles, support rifles, everything, but the only thting they're doing is lighting up their position so I can mow them down.
Shooting the cockpit glass does quite a bit of damage, actually. Unfortunately, the gunner can normally se you by then.
I wouldn't be so sure about that,on Kubra Dam or Wake for example, with all the jets and lots of action you can't really pinpoint a lonely sniper 350 meters away and shooting at you.Talon wrote:

The BOOM!-headshot-woohoo-the-pilot-is-dead-version is quite rare anyways, either lucky shot or helipadcamping.
I try to keep quiet when a chopper is nearby, when he's circling and is looking for you a headshot is very hard to pull off.
But when the chopper is 300 meters away and raping some other spawnpoint or is in a chopper-duel I give it my complete ammo,it's quite easy to hit it,so one hit is definitely 1 of 20 healthbars,if you hit the cockpit it's 2.5 bars.
Even if I can't get it down completely,my 3 or 4 bars I took away from it force it to retreat for repair a littlebit earlier than without my hits.
And that's the best opportunity to hit a chopper, when it's already smoking and the pilot is fleeing towards his helipad.
When you get it below 3 bars it's down for sure and nobody else on the battlefield has the reach+power of the M95,so when the pilot thinks he got away you can give him a rude awakening sometimes.
