Ever noticed when you first spawn at the beginning of a game (especially if there is only one spawnable flag), you and everyone else are running for vehicles and you hear your dude take some damage and lose a bit of health?
I just picture everyone elbowing while jockying for position. It usually happens within your first couple of seconds of the spawn, and I don't hear any bullets being rattled off so I don't attribute it to that. Maybe just the game reconciling multiple people spawning together.

Pretty meaningless, I know, but what other little things have you guys noticed?

Two Personal Favorites:
1) Running at a plane from behind, I clipped the wing the other day with my body. Instant death...? I was a little surprised.
2) AT mines. Ever put one down on a hill, laying down flat, and have it just stand up on end, rolling side over side down the hill. That, and when they disappear into the train tracks they have on some levels.

I used to notice the jockeying for position and taking abit of damage as everyone ran for the choppers on Mashtuur back in pre 1.12.

Although it's more likely that they're all just breaking in their boots. You ever tried putting on a fresh pair of 18-holer DMs and going for a run. Ouch. ; )

the at rockets going straight through buggies and sometimes i see choppers and jets collide but nothing happens

Nice find with the mines! I have seen that!

Here's another related to your first point. I've taken a jeep full blast heading to cap a flag and get out only to die because I get pinched between the vehicle and the wall next to it after the jeep is stopped though.
Die between two immovable objects, nice.

i got stuck after i jumped on an edge of a wall the other day.... couldnt move, couldn't go prone.... just had to stand there till a sniper found me.....

Barb wire somehow killed me when I jumped off the construction site at sharqi. Usually I only take one bar of damage, not killed with full health.

Another nice find! Yeah, if you stand on it too long....you will respawn in 15...14...13...

The same thing happens with the burning APC wreck in the middle of G-Town. If you are on it too long, death by fire!

ive never had that jockying problem except during rushes for a chopper, BUT, i was in the back of a blackhawk once, and i saw a rocket coming towards us, so i was ready to die, then it just flew through the open doors. i switched to the other side to see it flying away. not a bug i guess since it does have 2 open doors, but still funny as hell to see when i thought we were going to get hit.

One I forgot. I bailed out of a full health chopper (MI-8) on Mashtuur last night, deployed my parachute, and the parachute blew up the chopper. 5 tk's + 1 suicide = Kick for negative score. All because parachutes are buggy. Maybe my cables got twisted in the landing gear or something...
Also, taking damage bailing out of any moving ground vehicle. I've run myself over with every single vehicle in vanilla BF2, minus the RIB, which I'm working on.

I'll post more as I think of/find them.

i've taken damage from people running past me every now and again, and taking damage at the beginning in the way that is described above happens all the time.

I'll tell you what pisses me off though: me in a freshly spawned spetz tank on g-town, driving to the first flag, just barely clipping the edge of a jeep that had been discarded by someone else rushing to the flag - yes, you guessed it: the fucking tank explodes. From touching a jeep. With full health. "oberst_enzian is no more".

And this might not really be an odd thing as everyone is familiar with it, but what really continues to bug the shit out of me is parachutes not opening. I've jumped off the TV station in warlord and managed to fall all the way (yes, I was pressing the right key). Not to mention the fact that the chute retracts if you just *touch* something on your way down, like a sign or whatever. So feakin annoying.

I had a squadmate parachute on to me while I was prone and it gave him a teamkill. It was like he pulled out the Chuck roundhouse on my ass.

Hahaha.

This has happened to me one too many times, the worst of which was when i was playing a 64 slot Karkand Server. About 3/4 of the team spawned at the hotel and I was one of them and we all ran from the alley and my health is depleted to 2 bars and the guy who was next to me was killed, and flung 50 feet into the building opposite the alley.

Alot more were injured in that "jockey", but my (now dead) teammate and I got it the worst. But since I was a medic, I got two free points by reviving him and i healed myself...so no harm done.

2 china helipad @ wake island the wreck next to it, when you drive against it you just die?!

3 landing on top of the hangar containing the aa vehicle and tank @ dragon valley will make it fall through and explode...

Parachute spawn on warlord or Irongaotr the tower after jumping down to the chopper. You can get killed by a friendly soldier or his parachute....;(
