Probably 'cause you can run the backbones of linux and still have most of your operating power for the server, without pesty Microsoft stuff getting in the way. I know i wouldn't, because i have the most pie. But then microsoft is adding Vista and 64bit to that pie (which can be the sauce). So now i have a nice big flavoured pie. and you all have crumbs that are shit and no-one wants.

I've heard of Linux systems being on over a year, whilst a Windows system of the same specs, gradually slows down to a crawl. Not to mention the numerous flaws with allowing users system wide control by forcing them to run as admin if they want to do anything.
Then you've got the fact that Linux is open source. That generally means that if a security hole is found, its fixed within a fairly quick time, unlike Windows.
