Flare, Tight as you can go.. Although DO NOT use afterburners, most people don't actually realise this but it attracts the missiles more.. as in real life afterburner=hotter Jet.. = More attractive to missiles.
fly upside down, do continuous barrel rolls (which can be hard with a mouse). as previously stated, put shit between yourself and the inbound.
I just turn left then try quickly turn back right. Then fly up, up, up and away.
This is what I do to avoid missiles:
1. I hear the warning sound, wait a tad bit, and release flares (don't release flares too soon).
2. If the lock is still on me, I do very sharp turns to the left and right repeatedly, as to "shake off" the missiles. It works 99% of the time if done correctly.
By the way, a joystick is a must in these situations.. It is still possible to do it with mouse/keyboard, but you will not have 20-1 K/D ratios, believe me.

i do barrel roles as i do a big flip, hard , but usally dodges them. unless its a j10, then ur screwed

Here are 2 ways I use that I almost always get out alive.
1. If it is a plane behind you then when you hear the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep drop flairs and fly strait up or make a sharp turn and try to get behind him and then TAKE HIM OUT!
2. If it is a AA tank stinger etc. then when you hear the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep drop flares make a turn put on your after burners a Fly like there is no tomorrow.

eject, land on enemy plane in air, call for a supply/vehicle drop on the plane... you don't need a joystick to do this and it always works... sometimes... in theory...

There's actually a very good aviator guide that deals with all types of combat, including evasive maneuvers. I recommend it highly.
Also, I guess some people can mouse and keyboard a jet, I'm not one of them though. I prefer that setup in a chopper, but for long turns it just doesn't work.
The truth is, you don't want to make quick turns, and I've seen no credible evidence to support the statement that your afterburners attract the missiles more in BF2. Of course it makes logical sense, but I don't believe that's a part of this game because I've never seen it confirmed anywhere.
You want to make a sharp turn, but you don't want to change directions. When you change direction you straighten out for a brief period of time, and everytime you do that you're more vulnerable to be hit. So disregard the "Turn back and forth fast" advice, you just end up flying straight too often by doing that.
Also, as far as flares go....The best time to flare is when you're heading straight up. The reason is, you can run back through your flares a second time as they're falling and reap the benefits twice as opposed to ditching them on a downward pitch and having the enemy pilot lock on to you again in three seconds. No good jet pilot will miss you if you do that.

If Im in an F35-B I have 3 choices, hope to god the guys a shit ass pilot, or rush toward the carrier hoping some fucker is in the phalanx gun. Or I can just fuckin bail lol. Pretty much do NOT drop your flares until you hear the BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP that means the missles are launched. AND If your going to drop teh flares turn your belly up and drop them so they go up and then down giving you more time. Then go straight up with your afterburners then pull a turn and go straight down. This is coming from a shit pilot who always gets shot down by anyone on my tail though lol.
