You need a big melee on Karkand or Sharqi peninsula! Or some sniper n00bs to kill with the knife.

I've done it on my second try for a knife badge. I got 21 knife kills. They only problem is, I only had a total of 5 Global knife kills before I did it.
21 knife kills only got me a basic knife badge
I did it on Strike at Karkand. It was a 64 player server bu only 20 people where on at that time. I palyed as USMC, and just ran with nothing but the knife. CArry only the knife, a gun is just too tempting to use if your carrying it, and you wont have that short delay of getting it out.

nope not shargi.. karkand.. u will need Uav ,, then u will get the most kills.. u have to attack them from close if they dont expect u, then sprint ,jump ,lie down, do every crazy move..........if you find an enemy that is turned with his back to u, attack him with a knife
I found the sprint of sniper better than the armor of AT.

Make it a squad-level contest. Makes it more enjoyable that way.
I'm aiming straight at about 200 knife kills, but I just can't manage to get 18 in one round...just really tough. After all I'm not really skilled with the knife...nearly all my kills were due to sneaking upon snipers/campers...
I am convinced... after 300+ hours... that if you actually get 18 kills in one round without exploiting, you were playing with the WORST players in the history of the game.
I've only, only ever been knifed from behind, and I've only knifed people from behind or if they were firing at someone else. running around with your pig sticker is a great way to destroy your k/d ratio, and if they see you you can jump and "dolphin dive" all you want but if they're MOVING at all you won't hit them. I can't remember in ALL my hours ever seeing a round with more than 20 knife kills TOTAL.
My PERSONAL FEELING (don't scream at me, this is an opinion) is that more people than not get that badge by exploiting, then tell stories of grand knife combat in these forums. I'm not saying anyone in this post did it or that nobody is skilled enough to do it... I just believe that the majority of times this is how it happens.
I'm without my basic knife, and I won't try to get it. If by some CHANCE I happen to get a round where 7 people fall asleep in front of me or I do get a sneak on them, so be it. I'm not going to run around getting sprayed all over the place though over the badge.
About to be promoted to Master Srgt. instead of First because of that badge... this used to annoy me, not anymore.

See actuallly trying to get a badge makes it worthwhile when you finally do get it. i don't really just want to "Come across" seven people who are blissfully ignorant to the world, i want to go out and hunt them until I truely EARN the badge.

well.. i've got 1200 + knives and i got my expert knife trying my ass off, thanks. It was the first expert badge i got.. but not the last.
Work on ways to get in a position where you can sneak up on a bunch of guys... or when you find yourself behind 5 guys.. pull out the knife instead of unloading into them.

My basic was easy...in fact, I got it days/weeks before I got the pistol (got it twice, but the first one disappeared )...I went hunting snipers on Oman...it's darn easy to get 'em as most don't use claymores anymore for fear of the dreaded punish.
I have a thought on how to get my vet, based on how I got my pistol. I was on the building in Karkand next to the Center CP. I was sniping, but the waves became too much...I set a claymore for protection, hung my head over the side and used the pistol, not the sniper, for close kills. With the pistol, you hit accurately and they don't hear it, so they can't target on you. Yes, I did toss nades before resorting to the pistol and I went back to sniper after it became clear they'd notice...
Now, what I'm thinking is that my vet pistol comes the same way...along with my vet sniper in the same round, I hope...once that's done, I'll parachute down to the CP while a bunch are spawning and run rampant for a while...I think I can get 5-7 like that with limited effort...could be wrong and I'll let you know if I am...

I'll tell you one thing.. if you can get expert pistol LEGITIMATELY and not on one of those "pitol/knife" servers (are those even ranked anymore?) then you can get anything Expert.. cause 18pistol kills is retardedly harder than 18 knife kills in my opinion
it was insainly difficult to get, i would have to say you cant worrie about your k/d ratio (mine went out the window) and i was a med so i sould get some type of score for the round w/ heals but i had a few funny kills like "dolphin dive" onto a support guy w/pkm going full blast right at me and still knife him or the spec ops that after placing c4 in a tree in the road on karkend and finding a hiding spot only to turn around detinator in hand and standing there w/ my knife out -- deer in headlights-- priceless.
all it takes to get the badges is to sacrifice ur k/d till u get it,
its not hard to work ur k/d back up,
and yes its a huge sense of achievment, and adrenaline when u finally get that 7th/18th kill

I have gotten 34 knife kills but no badge at all nor a rankup!! I have been corpral for about 2 months!!!
I got my Expert Knife today by playing on a 24/7 Karkand server as the US and I chose the medic kit because of the sprint and the health packs (I would heal myself after every kill if there was a break in the flow of EMC troops) I camped out at the far left alleways near the hotel CP and just went at it like mad. I got a 4-kill special when I killed a guy with my knife and then backed away and sure enough the medic showed up revived him, and I knifed them both, and then a spec ops spawned next to me so I knifed him as well. several of the times that i got killed a medic revived me and that helped alot. I also killed a sniper a few times and had a fun time dancing with some AT guy before i finally got him.
last time i played, a guy ran up and stabbed me 7 or 8 times. so i too kthe time to pull out my knife and stab him once, killing him. was weird, he thought i was hacking. bullshit, until last week i didnt know what html stands for
I almost got my basic knife badge....i killed 5 people and all i needed was 2 more but the round ended and i didn't get the chance to kill 2 more guys.

I wasn't saying the sense of accomplishment wouldn't be awesome, but I'm not prepared to run around being slaughtered, or risk having the round expire after I've taken so many deaths to reach six kills. I just don't want to give myself a brain tumor over it.
I'm not sure how one could say its harder to kill with a pistol than a knife, the pistols are REALLY accurate and if you aim at someones waist the recoil will keep you on their body, you can squeeze off five shots (5 is what it takes for an all torso kill) in a REALLY fast amount of time.
You will notice I only have 5 pistol kills, I decided one day to try for that badge, just to see if I'd get murdered like I do with the knife. I got my 5 kills pretty much right away. It gave me hope thinking "wow, perhaps I can get 7 shanks just as easy." little did I know...
Thank you all for not screaming at me, as I never accused anyone on here of exploiting for theirs, but I garuntee it happens a LOT.
Side bar... te silenced pistol doesn't help at all... there is an indicator (a red half circle) that shows you from which direction you are taking shots when you are hit. I've never once had a problem locating someone shooting me with a silenced pistol, you just have to pay attention to that indicator.

I got my knife and pistol both after about two rounds. no base camping or anything, I limited myself to just knife for the round to se what would happen. I cames so close that I went the extra round and got it. You have to be sneeky and not expose yourself to much and have some luck. I took them from behind and straight on. head on takes luck and moves. a lot of dancing. I used only my knife so I could keep track of actual kills from knife. I am working on the Vetran but not exclusevly. If oppertunity knocks, knife them. going for the goal of the badge didn't hurt my stats.
Medic kit, on karkand, using MEC side with a fairly good commander. It also isnt a bad idea if your actually good and somewhat sneaky. You dont have to sacrifice a k/d ratio to get it IMO. Use the gun when appropriate, theres no point in rushing a guy, staring straight at you with a full clip in his M16, just dont do it.
UAV helps big time, it allows you to plan your attack and see who is vulnerable. TAKE YOUR TIME. dont start the round with knife in hand running headlong into guys. If you learn to flank instead of trying to take the shortest route, you will get the knife kills with ease. Also, medics running into the open with paddles in hand to revive are some of the best opportunities. If you see this, run directly for his target, go prone, and knife till both or however many there are, are dead.

Oh and the whole dolphin jumping dancing running around like an idiot never works, and makes u look like dumb. if you have to do that then your not doing it right.
i got mine yesterday on a EA Karkand server (64 player). However, there were only 30 players at the time, and the USMC quickly realised that i was going for the knife badge - every time they saw me I was hopping around with my knife. So then they all started using their knives to get me, i guess they wanted the badge too. Which made it considerably easier.
ONE MAJOR COMPLAINT: If you ever see two guys having a knifefight, LET THEM HAVE IT! Don't just blast away at the enemy, it's very unsportsmanlike! Wait for your turn.
