in a few days 7-25-06 will be my one year playing this award winning online FPS.
I remember walking down Best Buy and looking at the games and i saw a crap load of people getting the BF2 game an all that. Then after a while i played the demo in one of their computers as a single player shooting all the bots there. Within a few min 20-30 people started to surround me, praising the graphics, gameplay, saying " OMG I can do that"
I remember the first map i ever played "Dalian Plant" , i was really blown away with how the game is made. I met very good teamates and advesaries. Back then everyone had a lot of respect for each other. Yes, i had poor stats, but i was having fun. I was not the best at one thing, but i quickly learned all the vehicles and all that.
How can anyone not like the killer weapons, tanks, apcs , jet bombers blowing away people's flags, and so on. The madness never ended but the game was fun. Then i got my first badge, basic sniper badge.
Then i remember the high ping's i used to have before and how many times the servers lagged when i first started the game. I would play the game for hours on end, it was just too adicting. Then i got into my first gun battle, me being a sniper whore before with some assault people in my team. I died 3 or 4 times but i made 22 kills with my first unlock M95.
Then i played the most famous map of BF2. Strike At Karkland. Can anyone say "Karkland motel pandamonium" I would hear nothing but two things 1) grenades and 2) medics reviving people on end.
I played other kits. But there was one kit that had my attention: Spec ops. I became a natural with that kit faster than superman flying to catch louis lane. Damn i remember the good times of throwing c4 all over the place.
The fun kept on going until october. To me that is when battlefield 2 really changed both for better and worse. The best patch in the game in my opinion is 1.2. Special Forces came out on thanksgiving and provided a twist that i really appreciated. Then the first dagger to the franchise came in the form of "Stat padding" I looked at peoples scores like 250 points , 150 kills and 1 death. i said to myself, OMG this cant be happeneing. THis is the time i had my veteran spec ops badge.
In my opinion, x-mas is where the game has gone south largely because there were not that may good, respectable, honorable teamates or opponents. Then i say teamkilling for vehicles, boy did that put a sour stomach in me fast. I can say that was the death of what battlefield 2 and the assension of the "Noob fest"came. Noobs were making this game nearly unplayable, people tk,noob tube, prone spam, tk with claymores, flame, hack, admns morons, bunny hop ( remember that folks), and so on.
I left the game for a good 1 1/2 months due to school and due to the crap that i have been a victim of on most occasions. Then i came back on march 2006 after playing my world of warcraft game. From march until today, i have received more awards than when i have started.
Now i am a first Lt. and i am winding down right now, getting ready to hang my boots, rifle, grenades, armor, pistol up for good. I may punch it up to fist Lt or captain. General....hmmmmph they can have that.
I know i have disrespected other players out there during the game. And if i did... i apploogize for my arrogance.
SInce i am graduate school, i may not have time for 2142. dont know if my rig can run it when i have the following:
AMD athalon 64 3400+
120GB HD western digital
1024 MB DDR ram. latency 2
Nvidia geforce 6800Gt. 256 MB video card. ( yes it can run doom 3)
Regular cooling fans.. DOnt want a water cooling rig. I dont want to be electrocuted.
Well, i guess it has been fun. My stats are under the name: professionalx2324. Yes i know it sucks.
take care and good luck. Keep on fighting soldiers.
