Kicked for commanding and fighting?

So I was playing on the PBF server today and they're pretty well run. They kick hackers and such pretty quickly.

But it was Sharqi, I was holed up in the hotel all my men were at the surveillance post or the tv station. There were a couple people coming towards me, I snipe them.

Then bam, I'm kicked for fighting and commanding? I was paying attention to all requests, I had a UAV going I was artillerying and dropping vodniks when appropriate. So wth was I doing wrong? Is it that bad to snipe while commanding? I mean I have a UAV going showing me where everybody is, I'm protecting our last flag. WTH?

Well, that may be a little over the board.

If its defending your last flag its ok, but I wish they'd kick commanders that move more than an inch around.

In that case it's lame, but I play on a few servers that discourage (read: kick and/or ban) for commanding and fighting. It's meant to encourage the commander to do exactly that, command. If it shows a commander kill message that's something other than arty, then you run the risk.

sum servers dont allow it and iv tried fighting as a commander there is absolutely no way i can do it and command properly at the same time

well theres a distinction to be made between defending yourself/the flag youre near/your uav trailer etc. and running around getting kills. i support the former, but its god awful annoying when someone does the latter and abuses their commandering duties.

sounds like the admin in question was pissed you outranked him and secured the commander role

No... it was just weird. PBF is usually very well run and the admins are cool and everything. I wasn't actively hunting down people, I was essentially camping and sniping if I was the only one in the area.

Perhaps from the constant lack of spotting/commander support? I always make it a point to tell the team I'm fighting, expect to be blind for a bit.

Well I was UAVing, scanning and spotting the guys of interest and the helo.

I understand if I was uaving and using that to snipe or something but I dunno...

I don't get kicked too often and I try to be a decent human being when I'm online so I was just curious if this was the norm.

Well just read above replies. Fighting is ok, but moving around excessively and fighting is not.

Yeah I hate it when the UAV doesnt come up for 13 minutes and it only goes where the commander is... there might be a massive Party somewhere else and its just the commander and he puts UAV on him. or on an uNcap with one person there...USE THE SPOT! if you are fighting and commander you aren't doing anyone favors, and aren't helping, even if you think you are good; you are not.

The only place that doesn't need a commander is Karkand, Because there is only one flag anyway, why do you need one?
