There are already lots of maps with close-quarters infantry combat. Alongside Karkand, you should try:
Sharqi Peninsula
Warlord
Ghost Town
Mashtuur City
Great Wall
Iron Gator
Devils Perch
All of those maps are, if not dominated by, then at least heavily focussed on infantry combat. They're tight enough that armour has problems, and none of them have jets. You might notice that lots of them are SF maps, but then, the whole point of SF is close-quarters infantry combat, really. Compared to Iron Gator, the streets of Karkand are vast open spaces, y'know.
With Jallalalalalalbad on its way, there's really no need for more infantry-focussed maps. This is Battlefield, the whole point is that it's combined arms, lots of different combat styles acting together. With the EF and AF maps we've gotten some nice armour-focussed stuff, I think that instead of looking for more of something we've already got plenty of, we should be looking for NEW stuff, like an aircraft-based map, with opposing carriers trying to take an island or something (Midway 2007? Yes please!).
