what does beta mean? should i download it? is it tested? how do you revert to 1.03 im sick of 1.3? so many questions.
Beta = A test version of the patch, this is the time where you put your input in for the up and coming patch, it is for US to test for bugs and what not.

How do you revert to 1.03? Re-install battlefield and use the 1.03 patch, But i don't know if there are any ranked servers playing 1.03. I think the earliest you can go back to is 1.12 (maybe I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me)

Software typically goes through two stages of testing. The first stage, called alpha testing, is done by the software developers. The second stage, called beta testing , usually involves a limited number of "invited" users who agree to follow the Test Engineering Director (the invited users should represent all software OS and hardware configuations on which the software will operate). A beta tester will be instructed to specifically exercise various functions of the software, particularly after they have been fixed.
The beta testing program of EA/DICE is seriously flawed, and this is why we have so many bug problems with their software releases. So, they have added a third stage of testing that might be called "gamma" testing. This patch has already gone through beta testing ... now, it will have this open opportunity to identify problems with the patch.

I don't think there is any harm in downloading the 1.4 patch. It has already gone through beta testing, and this is no different than any other form of patch that the game has offered.[UCF]Dauntless wrote:
